That's not libel.
Why not?
To prove libel you must prove intent to defame.
Claiming a contract is for one amount when it is for another amount is not defamation by any stretch of the imagination.

Right - that would be the false statement portion of a libel claim. They'd have to establish the intent - for example - ask him if he had read anything about the Boeing officials saying critical things about Trump just prior to him tweeting it. Though I'm pretty sure he has seen *that show* before and would just say he can't recall.

Using your position as President-elect, and lying about something in a way to purposefully cause financial harm is probably *something* though. That said, I don't imagine that anything will come of it.
It's just another example of what a small and petty tyrant this incomprehensibly unqualified sack of shit is.

The libel is in accusing Boeing of enormous cost overruns and implicitly of fleecing the government. That the "costs are out of control" because of the misrepresented contract number, and more to the point that "Boeing is doing a little bit of a number."
And yes, you would have to prove that Trump did that intentionally. At least, until he "opens up the libel laws" and gets rid of that requirement (which doesn't exist in the UK, for example).
Of course it's all academic and Boeing isn't going to sue Trump for it. I'm just saying that they have a potential case.

It's not an actual proposal, but I wish it was.
Here's an article with more detail from
DNA Chicago.
The idea, a self-described "folly" from Jeffrey Roberts at Chicago-based New World Design Ltd., isn't part of a formal proposal, but his renderings of "flying pig" balloons tethered to the Chicago River aim to address Chicago's objections to the tower's 20-foot-tall letters...

I can't fault Time for the pick. The ascension and surprise victory of His Divine Glory is probably the biggest story of the year.
That still doesn't change the fact that he's a delusional asshat with dictatorial ambitions.

It's an inauguration, not a coronation. It's all about the office, not the man. Do we really want a spectacle - the Nazis did it so much better in Nuremberg after all.

In other news - he is showing signs that he will continue to irresponsibly meddle in the markets.
This is a Republican right? Where are all the free market people to complain how he is moving the markets with his blanket statements.

They're out there. They're just remaining cautious. They now know what it's like to be a trampled minority going against the grain and aren't speaking out en masse. It started with Trump's response to Carrier and has escalated to his threat of Tariffs. Look to Rand Paul as a barometer.

Time
“I don’t think it’s good,” Trump said when asked about Baldwin’s portrayal of him. “I like him as an actor, but I don’t think his imitation gets me at all, and it’s meant to be very mean-spirited… and I don’t like it.”
“Frankly, the way the show is going now… who knows how long that show is going to be on?” he added. “It’s a terrible show.”
The Emmy Award-winning show on NBC premiered in 1975 and entered its 42nd season this fall.
Trump on Wednesday also defended his frequent use of Twitter, which he called a “modern day form of communication” and a way for him to get out information faster than a press release and “more honestly” than through news outlets.
Every year TIME editors choose the Person of the Year, a selection of the person who most influenced the news, for better or for worse. Trump is called the “President of the Divided States of America” on TIME’s cover—a title he said did not offend him. “I’m not President yet. I didn’t do anything to divide,” he said. “We’re going to put it back together and we’re going to have a country that’s very well healed. We’re going to do a lot of great things. It’s going to be something very special.”

When a union official went on CNN to explain the weaknesses of Trump's claims about Carrier,
Trump went after him by name on Twitter.
In retaliation, Trump launched an online tantrum, tweeting, “Chuck Jones, who is President of United Steelworkers 1999, has done a terrible job representing workers. No wonder companies flee country!” He also wrote, “If United Steelworkers 1999 was any good, they would have kept those jobs in Indiana. Spend more time working-less time talking.”
Soon after the tweet, Jones reported that he had started receiving death threats, including right-wing threats against his children.

Could Rip become furious with the president elect? Or are these games people play?

On Monday, former vice-president Al Gore traveled to Trump Tower to discuss climate change with Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the president-elect.
Instead, he got the well-coiffed one himself.
“I had a lengthy and very productive session with the president-elect,” he told reporters afterward, describing the meeting as “a sincere search for areas of common ground.”
“I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued. And I’m just going to leave it at that,” he added.
He did not leave it at that, appearing later Monday night on MSNBC. “It’s no secret that Ivanka Trump is very committed to having a climate policy that makes sense for our country and for our world, and that was certainly evident in the conversation that I had with her,” he told Chris Hayes. “I appreciate the fact that she is very concerned about this.”

Alas, it probably means nothing. Trump is an incorrigible flirt, especially when there are headlines to be gained.
Ask any of the seventeen people currently in the running for Secretary of State.
