Actually, Trump's probably going to tweet about how he told DOJ / Sessions to block the merger because of Fake News CNN within a week.
That is probably true. Or he'll talk about it openly like it is normal business as usual.
Also Trump is apparently awake again and is pitching that we should forget about last night - since we had a *LANDSLIDE* victory last year.

This is already looking like one of those late-1930s Stalin group portraits where the purged former allies have been doctored out.
What an odd picture. Trump's head seems photoshopped in, and the guy in front looks like he should be holding a "DEAR GOD, PLEASE SEND HELP" sign.

I'm still optimistic. Just look at the recent election results. Sane people outnumber these fuck nuts, and will prevail. Fool me once, shame on , shame on you, fool me - won't get fooled again.
The Trumpsters were always a minority, and that minority grows steadily smaller the longer their clown has the spotlight. I worry more about the permanent damage they're doing to the R Party. Our system needs two viable, functional parties and the Rs still have all the power, even as they spin farther and farther into crazy town. It is not a given that we will recover from this.

"Had no clue?" What are you talking about? This is what Trump voters wanted! Someone who tells it like it is, who isn't afraid of being all politically correct. What are you, some kind of communist liberal snowflake?
Trump says openly that he would take whatever advantage he can get. His people regularly lie to cover up what he's doing, even when it's obvious. There should be no doubt Trump will use the Presidency for personal gain.

Republicans approve Trump federal judge nominee, 36, who has practiced law for three years and was rated Not Qualified but loves the NRA and has denounced “Hillary Rotten Clinton”
No. Not morally bankrupt at all. This is what scares me the most. These are lifetime appointments. You've all fucked yourselves over for decades as a country.
On Thursday, the Judiciary Committee approved White House lawyer Greg Katsas on a 11-9 vote to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, and then approved Talley on another 11-9 vote. The nominations now move to the Senate floor, where a similar party-line result is expected.
They don't have the seats yet. But it's a simple majority to get them there:
5) The full Senate has the opportunity to debate the nomination. The Senate debates until a Senator asks for unanimous consent to end debate and move to a vote on the nominee. If unanimous consent is granted, the Senate votes on the nominee, with a majority vote required for confirmation. Any Senator can refuse to grant unanimous consent. This situation is known as a hold.
6) If any Senator objects to unanimous consent, then a cloture motion must be filed in order to end debate and move to a vote. Cloture motions for judicial and executive nominations require 51 votes to pass. If 51 Senators support cloture, the full Senate will vote on the nomination, with a majority required for confirmation. If fewer than 51 Senators support cloture, debate continues and a confirmation vote cannot occur. This is known as a filibuster. Prior to the November 2013 Senate rules change, all cloture motions required 60 votes to pass. Now, only cloture motions for legislation and nominees to the Supreme Court require 60 votes.
7) Once the Senate holds a confirmation vote, with a majority voting to confirm, the nominee becomes a Federal Judge.

To be fair, we've likely fucked over the world for decades.

FWIW, if he's sufficiently incompetent, he likely could be removed. Just ask Roy Moore; he's been kicked off the Alabama Supreme Court. Twice.

Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old," when I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!

He is so bizarre that I wonder if he has an evil twin or split personality causing all this confusion.
Also there was this chestnut from the trip ...
“If I can help mediate or arbitrate, please let me know,” Trump said in comments at the start of a meeting in Hanoi with Vietnam’s president, Tran Dai Quang.
Trump acknowledged that China’s position on the South China Sea was a problem. “I’m a very good mediator and arbitrator,” he said.

"I would never call him short and fat". Well, except that you just did.
Oh, the irony of Trump calling someone else fat.
Hey, be fair, he probably wouldn't. Usually, his insults about a person's body are limited to women, mostly Hillary and Rosie O'Donnell.
I can't imagine, even at my most inebriated, hearing a bouncer offering me an hour with a stripper for only $1,400 and thinking That sounds like a reasonable idea.-Two Sheds

Sometimes I revisit the Trump threads from last year and remember when it was necessary to argue that Trump would be a bad president.
Well to his credit, he's actually even worse than I imagined. At once a week he does something that any other president would have never done. It's quite an achievement.
Capitalism tries for a delicate balance: It attempts to work things out so that everyone gets just enough stuff to keep them from getting violent and trying to take other people’s stuff.
I think the 'best' thing we're getting out of this is seeing how remarkably low the bar actually is for a sitting president. Once this part is over, I hope a slew of new guidelines and regulations hit regarding presidential power, behavior, tax releases, and anything else Trump has abused land and stick forever.
It's a position of dignity and leadership. It's not a podium for bullies and bigots.
