Part 1 of the 2020 SxSW bittorrent is up (800+ songs). They hope to have part 2 (another 150+) up tomorrow.
Is it more than pretentious Alt music this year? I tried getting through the list several years ago and gave up trying to find something I liked.
I haven't listened to it yet. I typically end up keeping around 125 songs per year, or 10% of the total.

This song came on 1st Wave on satellite radio the other day.
Massive Attack covered this in the setlist on their latest tour. i want to say at least a third of Bauhaus' output have reggae-styled backing tracks thanks to the David J/Kevin Haskins rhythm section (also seen with the number of dub versions they released).

Been on an Alice in Chains kick today.
This is one of my favorite live vocal performances ever. When Layne Staley was on, he was a goddamn force of nature. Listened to it a hundred times, and the anguished howls (from 5:22 on) give me chills every time.

Angry Metal Guy reviewed the new album from Malokarpatan this morning, avant-garde black/folk metal from Slovakia (how's that for obscure?). Glad they did, as it never would have shown up on my radar otherwise.
It's Bathory meets Sigh by way of Mercyful Fate. I love, love, love this track.

There's a few AiC's songs that gives me goosebumps everytime. Nutshell from their Unplugged is a powerful performance where you can feel his pain.
AiC's is one of a very few bands I'll never get tired of listening to. Dirt is arguably my favorite album of all time. I listen to it in its entirety usually 1 or more times a week.

speaking of 'loose application of the term "industrial"', there are two new installments (V and VI) in the _Ghosts_ series, available for free download now:
i wonder if these are released under Creative Commons like I - IV were. probably not

I'm listening to I-IV now for the first time before listening to V-VI. I was amused that one of the cues from I-IV wound up pretty much wholesale in Ross and Reznor's score for The Social Network.
