Unless you're suggesting that the simple truth is 'deliberately offensive or provocative,' in which case I think we have differing definitions of what a chyron should be.

There are a lot of comedians that have made a good living trolling people with the truth.

I guess we'll all have to agree to disagree. I think it was a bit too harsh and trashy for my tastes. Others don't. Fair enough.

I think a risk-averse editor might have gone with "Trump Endorses Controversial Senate Candidate Roy Moore," but then that would have been rightly criticized as mushy whitewashing.
The molestation accusations against Moore are what make him controversial; they're not some merely incidental part of the story, and emphasizing them in no way slants the news around the situation.

News is breaking now that the Supreme Court has upheld the Muslim ban in full.
I don't like how much and how fast this country is changing.... does that make me a conservative?

Small change now considering that SCOTUS just ruled that the Muslim ban was cool.
The Supreme Court is allowing the Trump administration to fully enforce a ban on travel to the United States by residents of six mostly Muslim countries.
The justices, with two dissenting votes, said Monday that the policy can take full effect even as legal challenges against it make their way through the courts. The action suggests the high court could uphold the latest version of the ban that Trump announced in September.
...
Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor would have left the lower court orders in place.
The San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, will be holding arguments on the legality of the ban this week.
...
Quick resolution by appellate courts would allow the Supreme Court to hear and decide the issue this term, by the end of June.

FWIW, the conservative radio shows I listen to don’t shy away from calling Moore an accused child molester.
Not to say that they set the standard of journalistic standards, but rather that it’s not controversial at this point to say that Moore is an accused child molester.

Arguments in the 9th Circuit are this week, and it's on track to be decided by the Supreme Court by June.
Thanks, that's a really important clarification that I missed just seeing the headlines on twitter. Still, it suggests they don't see it as unconstitutional on its face.

A little comical seeing hollywood elites decry Moore one day and then celebrate how much they love that new movie about a man sexually abusing a minor.

It's also comical watching conservative normies totally buy into the messaging of their elite masters with nary a sign of critical thinking. Forget that Moore keeps changing his story (I knew those nice girls to I have never once met one of these women!). Whatever the Russian trolls espouse quickly becomes gospel.

Which movie is that? (Honestly, I have no idea. Just looked at the top films on RT and nothing seemed to fit that particular bill)
Regardless, seems as though there’s a rather distinct difference between a movie and, you know, reality. Or perhaps that’s only a difficult distinction for Fox News viewers to make.

Are you fucking retar...stupid? (sorry Imlawboy).
It's a little comical to hear conservatives decry abortion one day then celebrate how much they love Game of Thrones where all of Robert's heirs were aborted, some as early as the 8th trimester.
No one is this stupid. Ok, you got me. Trolls gonna troll.

All I can figure is that maybe he's referring to the new Woody Allen? AFAIK It's not about a man abusing a minor but it does feature (in yet a other creepy Woody Allen movie parallel to Woody Allen's own life) a mature adult falling for a younger woman who is the stepdaughter of his earlier lover.
"Celebrating how much they love" this seems odd to me, but then I've only seen reviews that point out the ick factor and reiterate that it's time for Woody Allen to go.
Oh those poor, persecuted Christians. Whatever shall they do to weather this storm? I mean, they're all the way down to a 75% majority in the US?
This is the single stupidest battle in the culture war. Honestly, no one with a brain gives a single, solitary fuck about this.
Merry Christmahaunakwanzika to you too, asshole.

And for any of you who, like myself, have friends or relatives that continue to claim that the Obamas never said "Merry Christmas", here's a supercut of them doing exactly that. You're welcome.
How so? I mean, in what way is America back? Or if that's a tough one, how was it gone 8 years ago?
This literally makes zero sense. I.e. wtf are you talking about?
If I'm gonna get trolled, I should at least be affected by the trolling, but this one is a pure head scratcher.

And Trump really has a ton of gall to be the self-proclaimed savior of Christmas when the guy doesn't have a religious bone in his body. The only thing he worships is the almighty dollar. He's a poster-child for the commercialism and greed that has become associated with the holiday, and the very thing that the religious right preaches AGAINST.
Hey, I know - let's trot out some Biblical quotes about the Antichrist for our Christian friends who love Trump:
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy with the breath of his mouth, annihilating him by the manifestation of his coming. The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders, and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion, leading them to believe what is false, so that all who have not believed the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness will be condemned.[5]
He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God
Hmm sounds familiar.

President Donald Trump may have found his way to combat one of his worst enemies, the so-called “Deep State.”
The Trump administration is reportedly weighing the creation of a private network of spies conjured up by former Blackwater founder Erik Prince, a former CIA officer, and famous Iran-Contra scandal figure Oliver North, that would gather intelligence for CIA Director Mike Pompeo and the White House and keep the rest of the U.S. intelligence community in the dark of what it discovers, according to a report by The Intercept on Tuesday.
The purpose of the global spy network would be to circumvent the “Deep State,” a term widely used to describe long-time officials within the government who seemingly possess a political agenda meant to undermine an administration. Trump has repeatedly claimed, with no evidence, that such an underground group exists and has worked against him since he took office earlier this year.
The proposal of a private clandestine network appeared rooted in distrust the current administration had for the intelligence community. Top political donors to Trump were reportedly asked to help finance operations before any agreement was reached.
“Pompeo can’t trust the CIA bureaucracy, so we need to create this thing that reports just directly to him,” a former senior U.S. intelligence official with “firsthand knowledge” of the proposal told The Intercept.
“It is a direct-action arm, totally off the books,” the official also said. “The whole point is this is supposed to report to the president and Pompeo directly.”

I'm finding it eerily disturbing that Republicans think a Red child molester is better than any Blue option.
I actually do wonder where The Line (TM) is, since child molestation/predation doesn't cross it. Manslaughter? 2nd degree murder?
The GOP sold any claim to moral high ground the moment it backed a thrice married adulterer who doesn't even attend church unless cameras are present, and told everyone he was a good Christian.
If Larry Flynt suddenly declared he was a Republican, and he had the numbers, they'd tell everyone Hustler was all about good American values and family.
