I've also laughed quite a bit this new season. I loved Frank Shoots Every Member of the Gang especially.

And I agree that last season felt...forced. I'm not a fan of shows that do a "hey gang, let's go overseas and introduce our antics to the natives!" season/series of episodes. With this show, I don't want "fish out of water". I want "fish polluting their own water with their innate awfulness".

Frank vs. Russia is easily one of the best episodes I’ve seen in a while. I was laughing out loud more than a few times.

“Kill the Wi-Fi! Kill the Wi-Fi!”

Celebrity booze ep with Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul is great…2 very good eps in a row! On to Risk E Rat’s Pizza (July 5).

Would love to see more celeb cameos. Conan O’Brien would be great.

I wasn’t that fond of it (although I did laugh at everyone thinking Aaron Paul was Malcolm). But that’s probably because I’m not a fan of celebrity stunt casting. Still, the chess episode was great enough to hold me over.

I've been enjoying this season. Frank vs. Russia and this last one were really enjoyable. I dug
Spoiler:
Cranston going full Heisenberg as a goof.
I'm ambivalent about the drop-ins and expect Ryan Reynolds to drop in any episode now.

The whole thing with Charlie’s uncle makes me laugh…then feel bad for laughing.

Yup. One of my favorite ongoing gags.

Tell me you didn't laugh when Charlie called Bryan Cranston "Mr. Middle"?!

Oh, it was still better than 75 percent of what passes for comedy on network television. I laughed a few times. Especially at everyone thinking Aaron Paul was Malcolm. I just have a personal dislike of stunt casting that dates back to Davey Jones appearing on The Brady Bunch.

The genius in having Dee trying to correct Frank’s inappropriate and antiquated social behavior, while then being corrected for her own by an even newer generation, cannot be understated. That was some damn fine writing.

I felt the premise and execution of the entire episode was excellent - really great writing overall.

It reminded me of the laser tag episode that was about way more than laser tag. I’m always surprised at how intelligent this show can be while still making fart jokes.

I'm a little bit behind on the new season but Frank vs. Russia is an all time great episode. This whole season has redeemed last season for me so far.

I still can't believe that IASIP was one of my (Southern conservative evangelical) parents' favorite shows. It makes no sense. They were watching it routinely before I ever caught on.

My dad is dead so I can't ask him about it, but I believe that it must be because they always loved Danny Devito because they always loved Rhea Perlman because they always loved CHEERS.

Or maybe it was because I moved to Philadelphia?

Shocking to me as well. Perhaps it’s the draw of something so foreign and alien to your own culture/world, that it simply fascinates/hypnotizes you.

I imagine so. I mean the show is funny as hell, of course.

Conservative Christians have also been used to seeing popular entertainment they disagree with since the 1960s, at least.

My parents always loved telling me that the last movie they saw before my older sister was born was THE SOUND OF MUSIC. The next movie they saw, after I was born and old enough for a babysitter, was THE FRENCH CONNECTION. That's how they knew the culture had changed.
