Re: [WW] - The Pirates of the Flying Octopi -game thread-
Ok, these are more just comments on what I have seen so far in the game an also reactions to my "Slip" and subsequent "Hissy Fit".
Ok.
#1. Why Theo Why?
#2. Theohall and Remus.
OK, enough about that because this is really run of the mill stuff and ultimately so boring I'm surprised I took the time to post it. But, the reactions to my Hissy Fit give actual info!
For the most part I read everyone's reaction to my Hissy Fit as genuine, EXCEPT for one person. That one person seemed awfully amused by my irritation and almost seemed to "know" that I was faking it. That kind of confidence stinks of knowledge. And why kind of people have knowledge in these games? Usually the bad ones.
I'm voting RMC today unless convinced otherwise.

And don't think I don't have my eyes on your other pirates either.
Ok.
#1. Why Theo Why?
As far as I can tell, Theohall has yet to back away from this position however he has been very low key about it. Is it possible Theohall really believe it is a "major faux pas"? With Theo, yes it is. However, I'm slightly inclined to believe instead he was testing Holman's reaction.theohall wrote:FYI Holman.... This is an example of a slip. While you may be a character, Scoop, this looks like a major faux pas.
#2. Theohall and Remus.
To me, it reads like Theo is joking with Remus. Also, looks like Theo is bored with Day One and wants to mix things up just to get things moving.theohall wrote:Remus, are you defending Scoop on Day One when no one has died???? Why???Remus West wrote:So theohall is allowed to make fun of me with "the only good Remus" comments but Scoop is not allowed to mock my famous slip?

Aargh. Just irritating.
- El Guapo - a genuine reaction thinking I'm really freaking out.
- RMC - RMC pokes fun at my Hissy Fit
- Vorret - another seemly genuine reaction.
- Mr Bubbles - an annoyed genuine reaction
- RMC - RMC again poking fun at my Hissy Fit.
- Lassr - Lasse makes a wise crack about PMS. IT IS NOT MY TIME OF THE MONTH!!!
- BB2112 - BB makes a genuine post about what a little bitch I was acting like.
- RMC - RMC slyly points out that maybe I'm doing this on purpose.
- Theohall - Theo makes an effort to paint me evil with his "poke the innocents" comment. He really doesn't know how to let go of something, does he?
- BB2112 - BB relaxes, seems real genuine here.
- Qantaga - The Q pops up and recaps (thanks for the kind words, btw).

So first
Withdraw Qantaga
Still not Mr. Talky Talky, but his post was pretty well reasoned.
Not really buying Scoop as a target. Seems pretty normal and doing his Scoop schtick to get information and draw out wolves. That in turns perhaps points potentially towards Theohall as Remus says. But at the same time, Theo's actions seem more like a typical Theosity than wolf activity.
I suppose I'm still perplexed / intrigued by
pr0ner
Seems like either he's bored by the typical day one mess (understandable) OR perhaps he's intentionally trying to fly under the radar. Maybe let's get more info on that.

This is my thinking. Now, I do see the point that theo's odd behavior is different from his typical odd behavior (which tends to be a bit more Crusader-ish). But then, there's this odd WW view where any deviation from past behavior is deemed to be suspicious, when it's also consistent with learning.Lassr wrote:I find theohall's behavior odd also, the problem being it has been odd in many games and he ends up being nothing but a villager.Scoop20906 wrote:Is it really? Knowing we have three bad guys, I suspect either Remus West or Lagom Lite is one of the others - mostly triggercut principle - but why aren't these two actually considering what Scoop seemed to find?

Then I would suggest you quit feeling and rely on what looks like the best evidence available on Day One. Hopefully, that will actually net us a wolf. Maybe I am acting on the triggercut principle, but Theohall has me in his gunsights. I am not a wolf, and he will stay on me like a bulldog for the rest of the game.
So TheoHall
<shrug> I am willing to switch, as I think Theo is acting a little different, but not that much of a difference really, but it is day one.

Re: [WW] - The Pirates of the Flying Octopi -game thread-
RMC is the only one that mentions it in the thread. I suspected Scoop was up to something also because that "hissy fit" was a bit out of character. Now, on the other hand, IF I suspect that someone is setting a trap, I as a villager will not post I think it's a trap. All that does is destroy any chance the trap may work. So I wonder if a lot of us thought Scoop was up to something and only RMC posted it.theohall wrote:

All of the comments he made about the reactions of others to his post seem to be spot on and the only one acting like they "know" something is RMC.
THAT is where I wonder about RMC. Why give away the fact that you think Scoop is up to something and warn the wolves unless you are a wolf.
But how many times have villagers noted someone is up to something out of innocence/ignorance. A bunch.
So your flip flopping and RMC's announcement that Scoop could be up to something are the two big pieces if info I am working with right now. Nothing else has stood out to me.

So, let me get this straight Mr. Helpful-Lassr, you think that a potential wolf-RMC posted that Scoop was up to something - in game thread - to warn the other wolves away from the bait? Is that correct?

Re: [WW] - The Pirates of the Flying Octopi -game thread-
Just to point out, I am just finishing the thoughts of others at that day/time. I think BB was the one that asked the question if scoop could be up to something.. I don't have time to go back and look, but I think it was him.Lassr wrote:RMC is the only one that mentions it in the thread.
Please... go look at my Day One track record. It's all over the map. Now, when we have more information to go on...yes, I tend to have blinders then. Like right now, I believe Scoop to be right. I guess in hindsight I shouldn't have said anything, but sheesh, it was kind of easy to see if you had ever played with scoop before.

No, that he says that because he's not thinking like a villager but like a wolf acting helpful.Remus West wrote:So, let me get this straight Mr. Helpful-Lassr, you think that a potential wolf-RMC posted that Scoop was up to something - in game thread - to warn the other wolves away from the bait? Especially on day one?Scoop20906 wrote: scoop20906

and yes, I do see what you are implying there. Am I being helpful? Imagine that.Remus West wrote:So, let me get this straight Mr. Helpful-Lassr, you think that a potential wolf-RMC posted that Scoop was up to something - in game thread - to warn the other wolves away from the bait? Is that correct?

He asks all innocent like, knowing full well what he had implied.
