The Summer Sale started on Friday and runs through Jun 17. I didn't hear about it until this morning, so I've already missed out on nabbing the free game that I'd never play anyway.

GOG has Wasteland 2 for free - for the next 32 hours.
Jesus said, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body."[Matt 10:28] God can totally destroy us.

Jesus also said, "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”[John 6:40] Eternal life is conditional.

His disciple John wrote, "Whoever has the Son has eternal life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have eternal life. [1 John 5:12] Eternal life is optional.

Oh, and GOG brought back a classic

Mission Force: Cyberstorm

One of the Earthsiege games that never got too much notice during its day, but is a classic nonetheless. Turn-based mech action, procedurally generated missions.

No idea if it's aged well or still playable multiplayer, but a great game for it's time and the 1 MP game I played was awesome! (we used max points, I built scouts for 2 of mine, my friend did not... since you couldn't quite fully max out all the bots with max points, the scouts were not as significant of a firepower drain as they could have been and their scouting value allowed me to concentrate firepower and beat him, though not without significant casualties of my own).

Wow.

Now that's some seriously old school gaming. The last time I played Lords of Midnight and Doomdark's Revenge was on a Commodore 64 with hand-drawn maps in the eighties. They were truly groundbreaking, highly evocative games back in the day. However, I don't have much interest in sullying the nostalgic memories I have of enjoying them by replaying them nowadays. It just wouldn't be the same.

Oh I'm all over that, though I'm sure they're probably difficult to play these days. Eye of the Beholder was the game that forced me to buy a sound card. :D I spent a lot of time with these (and went through a lot of graph paper).

Oof.

I'm all about retrospective gaming...but I don't know if I can go back to graphing myself. The only reason I tried Wizardry 6 for giggles was someone came up with an automap for it.

If you haven't played them, the Legend of Grimrock games are pretty good modern successor to the Eye of the Beholder games. Got the 2nd one a few weeks back during the GoG sale and have been playing it pretty steadily.

The memories this comment evokes. My best friend's little brother had a crazy mind for those games (bard's tale games too) and he memorized the maps perfectly. It was pretty impressive in a 13yo kid.
