This crazy guy shot two Israeli thinking they were Palestinians. The Israeli victims thought they were attacked by Palestinians posting hatred comment toward Palestinians.

I've seen a few too many people implying that simply owning a Tesla is supporting what's happening, as if every Tesla owner can afford to just get a new car on principle.

That kind of crap needs to stop.

Honestly...most of them could, considering the trade-in values for all but the earliest Tesla models. But I can see where it's not as easy as returning something to the store. So I'm willing to give them a pass.

My problem is with the kind of black-and-white virtue checks that turned MeToo (where genuine misdeeds were brought to light and addressed - a good thing) into the worst of 'cancel culture' where all imperfection is punished equally and severely.

If we want people on 'our side', we need to distinguish the genuine fascism supporters from the well-meaning imperfect. And people having to put "please don't vandalize me, I'm a good guy!" on their car because it had the wrong logo when they bought it five years ago (possibly for exactly the kind of reasons that we support) isn't helping anyone. It's just making the left look like elitist, exclusionary, perfectionist assholes.

I never considered it as a plea for no vandalism, I just thought it was a statement of: Electric cars are a great idea, but I would never buy another one from Musk.

It's happening everywhere. People are having their cars painted on, keyed, and damaged. Tesla dealers have been vandalized, shot at, and have received bomb threats.
