In any case, there's no one left here that will pigeon hole you. Unless you are thinking about getting Rip or Em2 to change sides? I mean, good luck to you and all that, but I think it'll take more than no name calling to get those 2 to move.
I get that some people don't want to descend into childish name calling, but since no one is making you do it, it hardly seems to be a problem.
If you don't like that people call Drumpf names, well, we all have to live with things we don't like.

What's funny is that now, after destroying the office and sending the country down Shithole Creek, a dalliance with a porn actress seems almost insignificant.

I think the big question is whether it was a "dalliance" or whether it was more of an involuntary pussy-grab type situation. The former would probably be a blip. If it's the latter, especially with this payment, could be kindle for restarting a deep examination of Trump's sexual abuse allegations.LawBeefaroni wrote: Fri Jan 12, 2018 5:17 pmNot so much having an affair, although I'm not apt to give a free pass for that either. There was a time not so long ago, when even the hint of an affair could torpedo a presidential campaign. Now it's just a pussy grabbin' free for all.
I remember being mad at Bill Clinton for days after he answered the "boxers or briefs" question because I felt it was so far below the dignity of the President. Oh what a sweet naive Puritan I was.

I really doubt it. This is really not the kind of thing that Trump wants to play around with (so to speak) during the #MeToo / #TimesUp era. They would rather leak something on almost any other topic.Holman wrote: Fri Jan 12, 2018 5:33 pm Who bets that Trump's team leaked this to change the subject from his blatant racism?

I don't necessarily give him a pass for the affair or the cover-up, but they mostly just make me shrug. it's just another example in a loooooooooong line of examples that he is a supremely shitty and awful human being. That's not really newsworthy any more...or maybe I'm just entirely desensitized to his garbage. Especially since the cover-up mostly just seemed to be a payment not to talk about what was a consensual affair. Doesn't sound like there's anything illegal or abusive there that would raise an eyebrow.LawBeefaroni wrote: Fri Jan 12, 2018 5:17 pmNot so much having an affair, although I'm not apt to give a free pass for that either. I would be rather shocked if we saw any reaction from Melania. I can't imagine a scenario in which this makes a huge impact on how she views Donald, and she already seems to prefers that people pay as little attention to her as possible.

Has there been any confirmation it was consensual? I've only seen it referred to as a "sexual encounter", which doesn't imply consent. I don't think we have enough information to assume it was, and there's certainly reason to think it wasn't.Skinypupy wrote: Fri Jan 12, 2018 5:52 pm

Trump having an affair doesn't surprise me at all. He's on his third wife because of affairs, it was known. I don't even necessarily think adultery is a disqualifying thing, depending on the situation. It's the fact that the right has long used affairs to pillory opponents, but are giving Trump a free pass that's infuriating. And how quickly they'll forget that they did it and go back to using it as a weapon again.
I can't imagine, even at my most inebriated, hearing a bouncer offering me an hour with a stripper for only $1,400 and thinking That sounds like a reasonable idea.-Two Sheds

If it wasn't, and turns out to be something other than a consensual affair, then that's an entirely different matter and deserves far more attention.
