That's two of the best catches I've seen in this game. Holy crap.
And in banks across the world
Christians, Moslems, Hindus, Jews
And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The raccoon and the groundhog neatly
Make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range

That was a fantastic catch by Edelman and a great angle by the cameraman.

If the Patriots come back to win this, they will be the nation's most intolerable franchise.

I thought the Julio catch was incredible, but that Edelman catch was even more insane.

Unbelievably dumb play calling in the 4th killed Atlanta. Run the damn ball, kick the FG, and you've won. Why the hell pass the ball and risk those sacks?

I was wondering the same. I guess Belichick has the power to mind control people into passing when they should run.

At least this settles the question of how great the Falcons offense is. Seven points in the entire second half worth of great.

On a side note, I would just like to point out how amazing the finals of the major sports have been in the last year (despite some of the outcomes):

NCAA bball: Nova beats UNC on a last second 24 foot shot.

NBA: Cleveland comes back to beat GS with some crazy plays at the end.

MLB: Cubs coming back and ridiculous game 7.

NCAA Football: Clemson edges Bama

And now this ridiculous SB that had the biggest comeback ever and first OT.

It's been a good year for sports fans.

CFL Grey Cup was hella good, too.

The heavy underdogs got off to a surprising big lead and looked like they were going to run away with it. Then the favourites came back with the game going to OT ... but the underdogs won.

The Rams came back to Los Angeles and managed to bring the Chargers with them, so for some of us sports fans it's been a 'what did we do to deserve this?' year.

You're right, it could've been even worse. I can't imagine how long time fans feel when their team just packs up and moves, often becoming an entirely new team, like the Ravens or the Titans. At least I know that next Fall there will still be an Atlanta Falcons to pull for.

That was the craziest game I've ever seen. I feel so bad for ATL...I bear them no ill will and they certainly didn't deserve that. Not like Seattle. Still, that is also probably the second best Boston win after 2004 Red Sox.

At least it wasn't the Eagles on the wrong end of that one. That's my only solace.

As far as I'm concerned the Rams are home again.

First super bowl I watched was Rams and Steelers. My midget team was called the Rams.

As a football fan I dislike seeing teams do what Atlanta did. Towards the end of regulation, when they were looking at 3rd and 33, that was them imploding. They were on their way to at least a field goal and next thing you know they get nothing. That wasn't due to exceptional defense, that was poor play on Atlanta's part.

They had that huge lead and instead of going for the kill, they went limp. I see that so much in football. Let's not play to win, let's play to not lose, which leads to you losing.

Actually, I am. My son and I went and practiced swimming together earliar today. He loves the sport and I couldn't be happier about it. Then, his soccer team (which I coach) won. It was a great day. It would have been nice if the Falcons had won but the outcome doesn't actually affect me (except for stessier being unbearable). :)

Still processing and throwing up but damn if that wasn't the most Atlanta Sports thing ever.

Bad Atlanta:
4th qtr play calling. Really, WTF?
Stupid penalties. Young and dumb.
Freeman blown block. Hadn't done it all year, Caused a fumble and changed the game. Julio was cutting across the middle and had the safety turned around. He would of ran a while on that play.

Good Patriots:
Never Gave up
Great adjustments as always
Brady. Went from a bad game to Glory. He is just unbelievably good.

Hats off to Patriots they earned it. Brady and Belichick can go retire now....please.

Yeah, I mean, it took an incredible offensive performance by the Pats to score 25 to tie it (along with an assist from Jesus on the Edelman catch). But any comeback like that requires you to stop the other team's offense too. But I didn't feel like the Pats did that so much as they just sort of watched Atlanta cock everything up for themselves.

After the Julio catch, you have a first and 10 at the NE 21 with 4 minutes left in the game. I don't care what happens, you run the fucking ball three straight times and if necessary kick the FG to go up by 11. And what the hell were the Falcons doing, snapping the ball with 10-15 seconds on the clock every play? Have they never run a 4 minute drill?

Saving this for posterity. I can't believe it hasn't been updated yet.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Comeb ... _football)
The Comeback was an NFL playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Oilers played on January 3, 1993. It featured the Bills recovering from a 32-point deficit[1][2] to win in overtime, 41–38, and as of February 2017 it remains the largest comeback in NFL history.[1]
It's still the largest comeback, but last night was more significant and I can see the title being taken away.
