That is high-larry-us. You try and switch my criticism of the Democratic Party towards the black community by dismissing it as ain't no thang and instead it's the Republicans who are evil and deserve our attention/criticism. Carry on with your own Whatabout-ism.

I follow a lot of black pundit-types, and it's remarkable that they often say the same thing: black Americans *are* often conservative in the classical take-responsibility-for-your-behavior sense, but they are -very- -very- -very- aware of the degree to which the deck is stacked against them by history and prejudice and institutions.

White conservatism is almost entirely focused on hammering the responsibility angle while ignoring and exploiting and exacerbating the degree to which that deck is stacked.

That's why black Americans overwhelmingly support the Democratic Party. Flawed and awkward as its coalition is, it's a coalition that acknowledges social injustice.

About as damn funny as you spreading lies/misinformation/propaganda in the Earth Day thread and refusing to edit your posts when the pics were proven to not be of Earth Day. I mean it's not like you came up with the lie, the internet did. You are only propagating the false stereotypes (which seems to sort of diminish your whole stereotypes are bad point here).

Honestly Moliere, it's posts like that one that make it hard for me to take you seriously.

I posted two specific stories that underscored the way in which the modern incarnation of the Republican party treats racial issues (you know, what we were actually talking about), and you responded with a random Wikipedia page about corruption in Chicago (you know, not remotely what we were talking about).

In short, if you post an unserious response, expect an unserious answer.

Chance is certainly right about his hometown's longstanding Democratic rule—the last time the Windy City had a Republican mayor was back in 1931. (As with many industrial cities, control there flipped from Prohibition-supporting GOP machines to Democratic machines due to changing demographics and shifting attitudes toward Catholic and Jewish immigrants.) And as he grudgingly acknowledges, Democratic rule in Chicago hasn't been good for African Americans. The city's police department routinely violates the rights of black and Latino residents, according to a scathing Department of Justice report issued last year. Massively powerful unions have blocked reforms not just of police but of awful schools, while extorting generous pensions and benefits that have brought the city to the edge of bankruptcy and kept it from providing basic services. Chance himself has donated $1 million to Chicago's schools, which have been deemed the country's worst at least since 1987.

Since the fall, the US Department of Justice has been overhauling its manual for federal prosecutors.

In: Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ tough-on-crime policies. Out: A section titled “Need for Free Press and Public Trial.” References to the department’s work on racial gerrymandering are gone. Language about limits on prosecutorial power has been edited down.

The changes include new sections that underscore Sessions’ focus on religious liberty and the Trump administration’s efforts to crack down on government leaks — there is new language admonishing prosecutors not to share classified information and directing them to report contacts with the media.

The other obfuscation is that the caravan is explicitly trying to enter legally. Yes some climbed up the fence, which was dumb, but AFAIK, they're trying to cross according to the law. But of course Trump lies about it and so that somehow becomes the truth.

Surprising exactly no one, the crazy doctor now admits that Trump dictated that whole "he would be the healthiest president ever" letter himself.
When Dr. Harold Bornstein described in hyperbolic prose then-candidate Donald Trump's health in 2015, the language he used was eerily similar to the style preferred by his patient.

It turns out the patient himself wrote it, according to Bornstein.

"He dictated that whole letter. I didn't write that letter," Bornstein told CNN on Tuesday. "I just made it up as I went along."

The admission is an about face from his answer more than two years ago when the letter was released and answers one of the lingering questions about the last presidential election. The letter thrust the eccentric Bornstein, with his shoulder-length hair and round eyeglasses, into public view.
Shocking, I tell you!

So, I'm like raid is a strong term. I read the peace and raid still sounds like a strong term but I get to
Bornstein said he was not given a form authorizing the release of the records and signed by the president known as a HIPAA release — which is a violation of patient privacy law. A person familiar with the matter said there was a letter to Bornstein from then-White House doctor Ronny Jackson, but didn't know if there was a release form attached.
There is nothing to back it up but it sounds exactly like our president, this administration, and how the party that supports Trump operates. No benefit of the doubt can be given to any of them when that claim is made. They are the dickhead who cried SUE!

If it had been written by his doctor, it would have meant just ridiculous flattery and embarrassing sycophancy.

Written by Trump himself, it means... well, we know exactly what it means.

Once again, though: can you even *imagine* how a weird arrogance like this would have played with President Obama or President Clinton? It would have been the scandal of weeks and weeks.

With Trump, it will be forgotten tomorrow because something worse will erupt before noon.

To the wind in particular.

1) Not a democrat. Really only started voting that way in the last 10 years or as my hand gets forced and I'm still resentful for it.
2) Hate the DNC
3) Don't understand the fake media comment, unless it's to accent, that, yep, click through news often make a lot of bold claims that don't pan out when read through "on all sides" and I too often find myself tireless digging in an article just to find support for thesis, more often than not to find it's just an editorial, short on facts.
4) to equate me personally with a non sequitor snipe on something unrelated because I find the GOP and their active and tacit support of the President to be the so horrible that they deserve no benefit of the doubt from me personally any more (and I gave them a lot of rope when it looked deserved or hopeful). Well, again, it's an example of the president, the party of Trump, and the support system operates. No surprises there. That's why there is no conversation

I have a couple of questions on this. The raid happened in Feb 2017. Why is Dr. Bornstein only revealing this now? If I were a doctor and offended by the raid I would have revealed it right afterwards. And if I didn't want to blab about the raid because I thought I'd get a plum job in the Administration I would have blabbed when I didn't get any job.

And lastly, if I were a reputable doctor I wouldn't have blabbed that I let a presidential candidate write his own medical report because now I've lost all credibility as a doctor. Might as well start calling me Doctor Quack.

So why now? And why blab about letting Trump write the report? And does the medical profession have any legal recourse for revoking his license? I mean, wouldn't NOT punishing him mean letting all doctors who let patients write their own reviews off the hook? Think of all the insurance fraud scams that could create.

This wasn't an official form or anything submitted to get a life insurance policy. It was essentially a press release. I doubt there's much concern in the medical profession that my doctor is going to issue a debatable press release on my behalf.
