Congrats to Moghedian for winning his second straight Dumbass award. We had six people forget to submit their Thursday picks, and in this case that worked out in their favor.

Pick of the week: GB over MIN.

Oops of the week: Every other game? We had two games where the losing team was locked in the vast majority of entries--PHI and BAL. SD had a lot of locks and lost, too, and CAR/KC weren't locked much but also blew up in a lot of people's faces. Is it next week yet?

Crazy performance of the week: Bears D/special teams score 21 points and handed the offense a few more easy points. Are the past few games outlying events or is DET deciding that they were quite comfy staying home in January, thankyouverymuch?

'Saw that coming' of the week: Green Bay steamrolling Christian Poner & Co.

'Didn't see that coming' of the week: Oakland? KC? ARI? CAR? SEA? Really?

I thought I had a shot at Top Dog with 31 points this week, but lo and behold 3 of you felt the need to top that, and 8 more tied it. As Da Coach would say, STOP IT.

Pick of the week: Amazingly for a week as high-scoring as this one, there were no unanimous picks. ATL over MIN and PIT over KC were close, though.

Oops of the week: DEN over SD.

Crazy performance of the week: Sebastian Janikowski setting a new Raider record with 6 FGs, and their punter completely neutralizing the Bears' special teams. Haven't seen that happen in awhile.

'Saw that coming' of the week: NO scored a lot of points at home.

'Didn't see that coming' of the week: Ndomukong Suh ending the 'is he dirty' debate so decisively.

Scores fell back down to Earth a bit this week after two weeks averaging > 1.7 pts/game. We've got a 3-way tie in the early EoS Surge competition, and a 2-way tie overall thanks to another just-short-of-Top Dog performance from Mr. Lem.

Pick of the week: We had several 'easy' picks this week, reflected in the fact that there were very few missed locks--BAL, NO, PIT, SF, GB and NE won a lot of points for folks.

Oops of the week: DAL losing to ARI and CHI losing to KC.

Crazy performance of the week: Is Aaron Rodgers even human?

'Saw that coming' of the week: IND loses again...

Mr. Lem extends his lead to 3 points with 2 weeks to go. No pressure, sir. JC Anejo picked a heck of a week to have a Top Dog--average score was 16 and change and he vaults over The Line™ with 25 this week. He also vaulted into first in the EoS Surge category.

This is an oddball week with Christmas on Sunday--only one game that day. One Thurs, one Sunday, one Monday, and thirteen on Saturday.

Pick of the week: NO over MIN. At least one game was easy.

Oops of the week: Almost everything else? Buffalo, Seattle, Indy, KC, Washington, San Diego and Carolina all winning.

Crazy performance of the week: Even though no particular moment was spectacular, I'm going with KC dethroning GB. That was spectacular.

'Saw that coming' of the week: ATL steamrolling JAX.

'Didn't see that coming' of the week: Indy. They won. A National Football League game. Without Peyton Manning.

Yeah, my bad. I had this fixed already, but had pulled the Week 15 list first. So you have 15, and the 327 total score is correct. I just had you wrong in the pre-week list. Whups!

I did not watch much of the game but ever time I did all I saw were marginal calls against Houston to keep drives alive. That roughing the passer call on the final Indy drive was not even marginal, it was straight BS. The illegal hands to the face right before it was marginal at best (particularly since the official had his hands in front of him until after the tackle then went for the flag). The pass interference the play after that was a good call though.

In some cases, the defensive player can argue that forward momentum brought him into contact with the quarterback, in which case it's not a case of roughing the passer.

I think having a lineman land on his back could be an argument for forced contact. Of course, I'm not an NFL official so take it for what its worth.

Ok -the most recent clarification(the Brady Rule) is the one that gets the most press. It may have been illegal before, but there were still times it could happen and not be a penalty. Now, not so much.

That is funny, because it was Carson Palmer who got knocked out the prior season during the playoffs and there was a huge hew and cry during the off-season about protecting QBs. Funny that it is just "the Brady" Rule when nothing likely would have happened had Palmer not been injured the same way at the end of the prior season.
