Re: [Streaming] Apple TV Plus
Free meant they still wanted me to set up for their payment system and associate an account for paying. So no free stuff me. 3 months of free is not worth one more gateway into my finances that I have to watch that can be used to buy whatever for whatever reason. I'm just too paranoid for that. Ah well.

Just do what I do and give them Zarathud's credit card number.

Re: [Streaming] Apple TV Plus
I already had an Apple account from back when I bought Babylon 5 on iTunes, so that wasn't a barrier for me when it came to the free trial.

Amazon, Apple make a deal to offer Apple TV+ in a Prime bundle
Apple TV+ will now be available as an add-on in Amazon Prime Video bundles, and users will be able to watch Apple TV+ films and shows in Prime Video apps and devices without downloading a separate app, the two companies announced.
The offering from Amazon promises to give users the option to stick with a familiar app and manage payments through one billing system.
Despite considerable media buzz and critical acclaim for its shows, Apple TV+ has lagged behind many of its competitors in terms of both total subscribers and retention. The deal with Amazon could expose Apple TV+ to new customers, and the bundled nature of this subscription could help retain them even in slower content periods.
Apple TV+ will cost $9.99 as an add-on in the Prime Video app—the same price users pay when they subscribe to Apple's service directly.

Slow Horses Already Renewed for Season 6 Ahead of 2025 Return
Slow Horses may be the title of the show, but Apple TV+ isn’t wasting any time with these renewals. The series has been already ordered for a six-episode sixth season, months ahead of its Season 5 premiere in 2025, TVLine has learned.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Sure it is. They charge $9.99. At $10, it's too much, meaning to me their service isn't worth a penny should they offer it to me.

2+2=5 because they need to give me 1 to figure it out.

Re: [Streaming] Apple TV Plus
I've decided to cancel after the free period, which ends in a couple of days. As predicted I never did make much progress on the list, so I don't see the point in paying for yet another streaming service that I'm not using on a regular basis. I might pick it up for a month at a time down the road if they have something I really want to watch.Max Peck wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:52 am Thanks for all the recommendations. I've added a bunch of them to my play list, as well as some others that looked interesting when I was browsing the catalogue. Realistically I won't make much of a dent in the list given that I don't really binge anything - I'm good for maybe an hour or two a day at most - but if there is still a lot of good stuff I want to get to come November, I might re-up the subscription.

I'm enjoying Bad Monkey quite a bit. I haven't really liked Vince Vaughn in anything for years, but this role is perfect for him and leans into his dialog quirks (which can be so annoying) by making them a part of the character, and taking some of the smarm off and making it funny and kind of charming, while also being used to drive plot and story devices. They have done a really good job with making one of his major annoyances a fun and clever piece of the show - which had to be hard, but they've done it through 4-5 episodes thus far.EvilHomer3k wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 5:17 pm
Bad Monkey has been quite good (though you have to like Vince Vaughn).
