Yeah, that's a good policy. Because on the other end, you never know what the person may be going through and it really makes the person saying it sound small.
Even when the person deserves mockery (Trump, for instance), it sounds so juvenile and petty that I think it weakens anything else said along with it.
I mostly agree and don't repeat silly names like the Danger Yam or the Mangerine. But I made up President Mump myself and I'm sticking with it because it's devilishly clever and appropriate for our co-presidents.

Wasn't really a meltdown - more of a blip. It would need to be catastrophic - like what happened in 2008/9, but even then I'm guessing he'd figure out way to blame immigrants stealing our jobs or something absurd.
Thanks, I don't really follow the markets much and guess I misread the headlines with them blaming fear of inflation and tariffs for driving it down so thought maybe, just maybe, he would delay for a little longer.

It happened. The market took a (fairly large) downturn late on Friday that was largely attributed to fear of the administration's after hours on Fridays' shennanigans but it wasn't a meltdown.

I actually see that more as satire than name calling (I've used 'Trusk' myself a time or two.) It's mocking them, yes, but it's also making a statement about the fact that the President is letting an unelected billionaire half-run the country. It has meaning beyond the mocking.

There's a difference between that and making fun of how he looks (the Cheeto), or just using a 6th grade insult (tRump - look, it's a butt!) Or, just as bad, 'Leon', which, with all of the names bouncing around in the headlines lately, is just confusing.

What's the deal with Leon? Obviously it's making fun of Elon, but I don't get it.

Probably will end up getting worse as the stresses of the system become worse, and I don't think it can be sustained indefinitely.

Trump once accidentally called Elon, Leon

It's uncertainty about the spending bill. Wall Street is looking for the tax cut, To get the tax cut, there needs to be deep cuts SSI and 'Care/'Caid. It's increasingly looking like that's unlikely at the scale necessary (as GOP legislators are looking to keep their own necks intact) so either they don't get the supermassive tax cuts or they come without equal spending cuts. The former is bad, the latter is worse (for bonds and US debt as the global standard).

Also, consumer confidence is dropping fast, and the whole Jenga tower wobbles when consumers cut back on consuming.

What - and I cannot possibly stress this part enough - the absolute, ever-loving fuck?

https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrum ... 7897265338

Posted last night on Trump's official account, this honestly has to be seen to be believed.
President Trump on Tuesday evening shared a video produced using artificial intelligence (AI) that showcases his proposals for the potential development of the war-torn Gaza Strip, complete with a golden statue of his likeness and beachfront skyscrapers rising from the rubble.

The 33-second video, which the president shared on Truth Social, starts with a shot of the city in ruins after the Israeli military’s 15-month bombardment. Text on the screen then reads “Gaza 2025 — What’s next.”

The AI footage then pans to a scene of who seems to be tech billionaire and senior adviser Elon Musk enjoying a meal and laughing, as the sun shines and people dance around him.

“No more tunnels, no more fear,” a voice in the video sings. “Trump Gaza is finally here. Trump Gaza shining bright, golden future, brand new light.”

The video also features children holding gold balloons also made to look like Trump, and a renovated beachfront with luxury hotels and money flying in the air.

It also shows a shot of a “Trump Gaza” building and, toward the end, the U.S. president and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seem to be enjoying drinks in the sun, shirtless.

If you watch it, it's even funnier because it shows a grossly obese Trump. It is NOT a flattering image. And HE reposted it.

Since Musk looks like a male model throughout, I'm guessing it was one of his sycophants or a fanboy/fangirl who created it.

Did anyone else notice the bearded belly dancers?

I suspect that video was made to troll Trump and he was dumb enough to repost it. That doesn't make the fact that he shared it any better though.

He truly doesn't have any filter. It kind of makes me wonder if he's really unable to see himself.

That's my take. He's everyone's clueless, racist grandfather who believes every conspiracy theory he hears and reposts things only to get pissed at fact checkers when they tell him it's fake.

OMG, now I can't unsee them! I kind of wish they made a more subtly beard for the one dancing with Trump though. I think he would have still reposted it.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) is increasingly becoming one of my favorite politicians. Her latest "I call bullshit" moment comes with the rising number of blatant ego stroking measures being proposed by Trump sycophants in Washington. Everything from declaring his birthday a national holiday to getting his face on Mt. Rushmore has been brought up. But Crockett has had enough:
“At this point, House Republicans should stop filing these desperate, pointless bills that do nothing to bring down the cost of rent or groceries, and just rent one of Elon’s rockets to write ‘Love me Donny’ in the sky in front of Mar-a-Lago,” she joked. “It would be faster.”

I mean other than him in his fantasy world. Any self-respecting person would be critical of a non-flattering photo of them, which I feel is why he may be unable to see himself.

Are we talking about Musk, or Trump?

Because when Trump looks at himself, it isn't dollar signs that he sees, it's masses of people prostrating themselves and showering him with praise.

Oh, I'm talking about Trump. Didn't realize there was also a discussion about Elon. But I was responding directly about the article about what Trump shared.

But yes, it's exactly this. I find it interesting that he'd choose to share something that shows him in an unflattering light rather than the adoration that he so cherishes.
