I think Chick-fil-A has the gold standard for apps - it's really well done.

I have a coupon for a Popeye's chicken meal for $6.99 so I'm finally going to get to try their sandwich. I've been thinking about trying one for about three years now.

My aversion to huge crowds is keeping me out of our brand new Chick-fil-A.

Why even go there that often? Profits from your purchase are funneled into anti-LGBT hate groups...that company is a pariah.
Wrong forum.
No, an atrocious company was invoked in this thread and I replied in kind.

I'm going to formally ask you to keep it to R&P. You've made your opinion well known on the topic for years, so your silence won't be seen as agreement withe CFA's policy.

Sonny's has some decent deals right now like ribs & pulled pork dinner for $12 on Thursday, but the $5 off an entrée coupon that they give you with their brand new app won't work on that entrée. Boooooooo

Since I failed at getting food from Sonny's yesterday I tried Popeye's today.

So I finally got around to trying Popeye's chicken sandwich since I had a coupon. My fries came fresh out of the fryer and they were really good, much better than the waffle fries at Chick-fil-A . Sweet potato waffle fries are the only waffle fries I like. I'd rather they brought back the carrot salad. I think the Popeye's sandwich used a potato bun so that's a plus with me. Crinkle cut crunchy pickles and more of them superior to the two floppy ones on a Chick-fil-A. They slather mayo on both sides at Popeye's, I'd rather they left the mayo off and allowed me to control the amount(I'll ask next time) the chicken breast was larger than the last few I've had at Chick-fil-A, however I have to give Chick-fil-A the edge on breading and the taste of the spices on the breading & the chicken itself. The flavorless Popeye's breading was sort of falling off too, might have been because they slathered that mayo on there. Popeye's gets points for good air conditioning, nearly empty lobby, and good atmosphere with New Orleans sounding music playing. Lobby was pretty clean didn't check the bathroom. Also props for having coke products. Finally Popeye's also gets props for having a survey on every receipt good for two pieces of chicken and a side when you buy a large drink. Chick-fil-A I get a survey for a free sandwich maybe every third or fourth receipt. Props to Popeye's for having coupons too, it's been a long time since I ever had a coupon from the other guys. Employees were friendly and didn't have any drama while I was there.

There was a KFC near us on the way to our doctor we'd stop at once in a blue moon. The last 3 times were stopped there on the way home the employees were being loud and arguing and stuff. The last time we stopped someone had been fired and they were yelling and throwing stuff in the kitchen and storming around. Needless to say that was our last stop there and in fact they closed it down not long after.

It's the Burger Kings in my area, but my little Caesars has some really surly employees too.

Little Caesar's near me has pretty much made all human interaction completely optional. Sure, you can walk in and order at the counter. Or - my preferred method - you order on the app, it gives you a code, you walk into the place, punch the code into the warming shelf/unit/thingie, the little door opens for the correct shelf, you grab your order and you're done. Most of the time there aren't even any employees at the counter.

Waffle fries are optimized for dipping and not good for much beyond that. Too much surface area to volume makes them greasy and they get cold fast.

First time I ever had waffle fried was around 1987. A place I think was called Backyard Burgers built a small drive thru only place in the parking lot of our old mall. It was about the same size or smaller than a Cookout place. That was the best fries I ever tasted. Had really good food. But it seems like they were there only a few years before disappearing forever. I need to look them up. See what happened.

As I recall their color was green. All fast food places have their own color decor and style...and I think their's was green.

Rubio's (fish tacos) has filed for bankruptcy - they blame high minimum wage. One of their local franchises is boarded up but another is still open. You have to wonder for how long. End of an era.

Yeah if your business model can't afford to pay people the rock bottom minimum, you failed. Someone else will arise to meet the fish taco emergency.

They'll probably start serving Pagpag here soon in order to pay employees and stay in business. In fact the two tiny pieces of chicken I got with my survey from Popeye's tasted a bit like it might be Pagpag to me. That leg & thigh were more skimpy and dry than the chicken in a Hungry Man TV dinner. Popeye meaty fried chicken sandwich good, Popeye fried chicken by itself not so much

Even worse is the tipping basically required in this country. We were already helping to subsidize employee's wage with that.

100%. So easy to use and earn rewards.

I've lost a bunch of weight in the last 12 months and CFA has become a go to for a filling, low calorie, high protein meal. A grilled cool wrap and a 8 piece grilled nuggets is less than 600 calories and has 67g of protein.

All-Dressed is a common Canadian chip flavor, usually combining the 3 most common chip flavors into one; BBQ, Salt-&-Vinegar, and Sour Cream & Onion. I've heard that the Pringles version is rather tame compared to other versions on the market. But in general, I'm surprised it's not a a flavor that has caught on in the U.S given it's popularity here.

Seaweed would be a smart flavor choice since seaweed itself isn't exactly cheap for a teeny tiny bag.

It's not Pringles, but I just cooked a nice batch of liver & onions. That's a cheap meal for you. Walmart has the liver in the freezer section. Put some olive oil in a big pan cook three big thin sliced onions in two batches until brown and put those aside in a bowl, take half of the liver out of the package running it through a flour dredge on both sides, put it in the same pan you used with some more olive oil. Cook it on both sides until it's nice and brown, then do the same with the rest of the package & some more olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. Yum!

I think I'd like a can of Liver & Onion Pringles.

That sounds good. As a child I HATED liver. The only thing to me it was good for is fishing for catfish. But somewhere along my life's journey I found I loved it fried. Our local KFCs will sell it to you...its not on their menu yet they cook it..weird.

Also with my dental issues I cant chew raw onions now so when I do have them I have to saute them first. So hey a perfect match.

I meant to say "beef" liver, I'm still not very fond of chicken livers unless they're cut up in some gravy along with gizzards & hearts.

Got some ice cream too..vanilla....meant to buy chocolate syrup but forgot. Want to make a chocolate malt shake. No one in my entire town has them these days when everyone did in the times before time.
