Trump Foundation agrees to dissolve:

The Trump Foundation, the charitable foundation started by President Donald Trump years before he became a presidential candidate, which New York's top prosecutor said exhibited a "shocking pattern of illegality," will dissolve according to a court filing.

The foundation will give away its assets to other non-profit organizations in the next 30 days.

May I suggest the ACLU, Planned Parenthood and any organization involved in protecting immigrants from the Trump administration?

It does not stop the lawsuit by AG’s office has filed against the foundation, which was formed in 1987 and that action will continue.

“Our petition detailed a shocking pattern of illegality involving the Trump Foundation — including unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing, and much more," state AG Barbara Underwood said in a statement.

"This amounted to the Trump Foundation functioning as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests."

The comment by that guy that worked with Trump for years on his various shows is totally believable (sniffing Adderall) when you consider his manic tweets (video was posted either in this thread or R&P videos thread, not sure). I said before that most of his tweets after midnight read like he's all coked up, and I guess I wasn't far off! Geez.

Huckabee Sanders says other funding sources for the wall will be found, government won't be shutdown. Believes it will be legal.

But Sanders told Fox News Channel: “We have other ways that we can get to that $5 billion.”

“At the end of the day we don’t want to shut down the government, we want to shut down the border,” Sanders said.

Sanders said the White House was exploring other funding sources and believed it could be legally done.

Trade and Huawei. Just over three-quarters said it was appropriate for Canada to arrest Meng Wanzhou, the C.F.O. of the Chinese tech giant Huawei. But just one in five supported the idea of President Trump intervening in the case. Three-fifths said the issues surrounding Huawei and Ms. Meng would affect trade tensions, and just under half said that they could affect future travel plans.

A recession. Almost half of the respondents thought the U.S. could wind up in a recession by the end of the month. The greatest threats to U.S. markets, 67 percent said, are U.S. political instability and trade negotiations.

My biggest problem with the wall (aside from the overall un-american-ness of it), has always been that it's not worth the money to build and maintain it, but if Conservatives come up with a way to pay for all that without just putting it on the credit card or relying on voodoo economics to pay for it, I'm ok with it being the will of the voters (despite how stupid I think those that voted for it are).

Really all they gotta do is make the wall into a giant sport stadium. Jesus, Michigan coughed up 300,000,000 for a no ownership rights subsidy of LCA for the Illitch family pocket book, whom literally pay themselves for the ability to call it the LCA. 5 Billion? That's a mere 19 corporate naming rights sports subsidized venues. Texas could pop that out right now. Make it giant a tourist attraction, bill it to the locals ,and sell it on the idea that it will be good for local business.

I feel like this should Be getting more attention than it seems to be...not from OO specifically just nation-wide. Honestly, wouldn't the GOP be marching on the WH lawn if Clinton were prez and her foundation had just been shut pending an investigation? This is extraordinary but since it's trump it's just Tuesday. So fn sad.

And yeah you're right about the coverage of not only the foundations but the candidates in general. But good luck getting anyone to apologize for anything these days.

That's the thing. Even if the worst case scenario happens with Trump managing to shut down Mueller and suppress any report, the odds that the NYAG puts one or more of Trump's kids in jail over Trump Foundation fraud are fairly high.
