So Ministry is doing another US tour this fall. Seen them already, don't like the new stuff, not terribly interested.
Igorrr is one of the openers. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

In yet another show in the I-only-go-see-groups-I-first-saw-in-the-1990's series...got tix for L7.
I was really into these girls back then and saw them twice, opening first time for The Butthole Surfers at The Latin Quarter in Detroit and then a year or two later opening for Beastie Boys at Phoenix Plaza Amphitheater in Pontiac. Both fabulous top-10 shows I've ever seen. Maybe even top 7...
When I got these tix a realized I slept on getting tix for Melvins in August and they sold out. No doubt hastened by Jon Spencer opening for them. Holy shit, that's gonna be a loud and noisy show...I might have to "acquire" tix to that one...

Ohgr just announced another tour in August, and will be here on my birthday. They will be the first band that I've seen 5 times.
Zeal & Ardor is also touring this fall, and has jumped to my #1 "must see" show for the year.

First show of the year looks like it will be Greta Van Fleet & Dorothy. Looking forward to this one!

the only 'for sure' one is The Damned, in a few weeks. i might go see Neurosis (since Converge is opening).
i signed up for a couple of shifts working concerts at the local Zoo. The Psychedelic Furs and X (co-headliners) is the one i'm by far most interested in, even though i've seen both of them multiple times. also Andrew Bird this August and on Sunday... Indigo Girls (?!) .. thinking of buying tickets for Adam Ant and The Fixx.

hey Skinypupy
Amorphis is coming to Herman's Hideaway in Denver this September.
Herman's is a bar that holds 500 hundred people.
Good opportunity to see them in a very small venue.
Let me know if you are interested and could make it.

They're actually coming to a similar place here the day before (Liquid Joes), and I already bought tickets. I was actually a little bit shocked they were playing there because it's so damn small (400 capacity).
Gonna be a killer show with Moonspell, Omnium Gatherum, and Dark Tranquility. I've seen all four bands on 70K, and they all put on a fantastic show. Tomi (Amorphis singer) is absolutely amazing live.
One of these days we'll connect for a show.
EDIT: Holy shit. I was just looking through the upcoming shows at this venue, and Mephiskapheles is coming in July. I had no idea they were even still a thing. They were one of my first small venue shows (opening for Skankin' Pickle) and were brilliant. I named our first cat Saba after this song.

lol, that's really the best description I can do.
I'm actually surprised that's the capacity. I've seen shows at this place with 50 people there.

I saw Depeche Mode last October at the Hollywood Bowl and just a month ago at the Honda Center in Anahiem.
Great concerts..

Welcome back Crimson, well wishes to you and your family.
I regret not seeing Depeche Mode when they were here in Denver last fall. Heard those were great shows.

Saw Fleshgod Apocalypse tonight, and I think I’m done seeing them live. With dual guitars, bass, drums, pianist, opera singer, and full orchestra backing track, fhe music is too complex to work well in a live setting unless there is a REALLY talented sound guy to balance it.
Out of the 4 times I’ve seen them, one show was brilliant, one was pretty good, and the other two (including tonight) were fucking disasters. It just all sounded like loud mush.
I’m mostly just bummed because we finally convinced a co-worker to come to a metal show with us, and it was just a huge clunk. Oh well.

I haven't seen a show in forever, but Samantha Fish is playing October 20th (A Saturday) within a young LordMortis casual biking distance from my house. I will leave the house. I will leave the house.
She plays guitar like it's the 70s and guitar exploration is at the top of its game.
And my , the cigar box

I slept on getting tickets for the Melvins show tonight after getting the day off tomorrow. So I had to use StubHub and pay 3x the face value...
But we're going! Melvins with Jon Spencer opening!
Melvins are touring with two bassists this time. Jeff Pinkus, formerly of my favorite band Butthole Surfers and Steve McDonald of Redd Kross.
Gonna be nuts.

Was just talking about Pyramid Scheme with my brother last weekend. (My sister's sister-in-law and best friend works for a rather large MLM company based out of GR, and we were all laughing at the venue's name.)

It's a great venue. Typical-for-GR excellent beer selection and 30+ pinball machines...

Is it weird that Jon Spencer would attract me to that show more than the Melvins at this time?

For our anniversary I bought the wife and I tickets to relive our respective first concerts. They were different artists but they are doing a show together nearby. Yes, the wife and I are going to see Debbie Gibson and Tiffany (and Lisa Lisa) in concert. I finally found a situation where I think I will truly regret having given up alcohol.

I'm pretty excited about that too even though when we saw The Blues Explosion a couple years ago it wasn't that great.
I'm hoping he plays the theremin more tonight than he did then.

That's crazy that your two firsts shows are playing together. Of course you've got to go!
The bill for our show would be very unlikely...Huey Lewis And The News would play with Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Thompson Twins.

Buying tickets for all the upcoming shows today. It's going to be a seriously expensive day.
My wallet is crying in pain...but that's a damn good fall lineup.

I'm in Oklahoma City tonight for a little show featuring Napalm Death, Testament, Anthrax, Lamb of God, and Slayer.
Best part is I'm also hanging out with my best friends from high school, some of whom I haven't seen since a class reunion 14 years ago.

It was overall a great show. Slayer was absolutely fantastic and performed amazingly well with one of the tightest live sets I've heard in a long time.

My wife and I went to our first real concert in over 18 years when we saw X and The Psychedelic Furs at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle a couple of weeks ago. We used to go to concerts all the time when we lived in Seattle but here in Monterey the bands we like usually play in San Francisco and that is just a bit to far.

You guys know (or can tell from my forum name) how much I adore Skinny Puppy. Been listening to SP, Ogre, and various other side projects in that orbit for 25+ years now. I could go on for hours about the impact their music has had on my life, and I'd consider Ogre to be my favorite musician in the world (not named Bowie).
On Friday, I had the opportunity to spend an hour hanging out with Ogre and the rest of the band before their SLC show.
They say you should never meet your idols, as you’re bound to come away disappointed. That couldn’t be further from the truth with this guy. He’s truly a wonderful, genuine human being who was truly a pleasure to connect with. He sat and listened to all our stories about how much his music has meant to this group of dorks, and he came across as truly humbled and thankful.
I'm not generally one to fanboy over celebrities, but this was honestly a sublime experience. Oh, and their show was BRILLIANT. Seen them 5 times, and this one was easily the best.
