A while back one of our posters was discussing how they didn't believe that Trump supporters could really be that blind and gullible as to believe some point or other that Trump was pushing.

Someone posted this on a relative's Facebook page: Illegal Immigrants Training for the Trump Wall.

After a page of "Wow!" responses, someone responded, "This is how your views get twisted. This is actually just the firefighter games!"

My immediate reaction: Yeah, that's kind of the joke. Nobody was taking it seriously.

My relatives responses?

"Oh, ok. At least it's good to know the truth."

Perhaps after observing Trump's America for a couple of months, more people in Europe will come to their senses (it's really the only silver lining in this whole shitstorm).

I can't even fathom the mental gymnastics required to consider Trump a "man of God".

He's both things that Nigel Powers hates: People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

While I should know better than to judge people by their appearance, WTF is the deal with that hair? Why do right-wing populist authoritarian-wannabe politicians so often seem to have weird Bond-villain hairstyles?

I've been through this with my mother-in-law. Basically it comes down to "He just found God recently."

In fact, a lot of Trump's rise has been founded on "he was bad then, but he's going to be different now." Despite all evidence to the contrary. As another cantankerous asshole (House, MD) once said, "People don't change."
