I don't know, Bannon's stated goal is to tear down the establishment. One way to do that would be to get a loose cannon like Trump into office, then turn on him and reveal all the dirt he knows. Manafort's suit alleges the order appointing Mueller "exceeds the Deputy Attorney General's authority." All actions taken by the special counsel "must be set aside," it reads.
The appointment order authorizing Mueller as special counsel permits him to investigate any matters that "may arise directly from the investigation." Experts have said it gives Mueller wide latitude to determine the course of his investigation.

I've been waiting for him to be gone since he started campaigning. Hearing from some that "now he's gone too far" is hilarious, because he went too far during his campaign, long before he was in the WH and has never stopped "going too far".
While emotionally I hate him with the fury of a thousand suns, I'm still waiting for a viable, meaningful way to get rid of him. I have my doubts about Mueller's investigation, which leaves...what, exactly?
Yeah, but....the only actual mechanisms to force him to leave are impeachment or the 25th amendment. Do you see a majority vote in the House and 2/3rds of the Senate voting for that this year? Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign chairman indicted on money laundering and other charges, filed a lawsuit challenging the broad authority of special counsel Robert Mueller and alleging the Justice Department violated the law in appointing Mueller.
The suit brought Wednesday in US District Court in Washington, where Manafort and another former Trump campaign aide are charged, challenges Mueller's decision to charge Manafort with alleged crimes that they say have nothing to do with the 2016 campaign, but rather relate to lucrative lobbying work Manafort and his deputy did for a former Russia-friendly government in Ukraine. That work ended in 2014, the suit says. Manafort and his deputy Rick Gates deny the allegations in the charges.

I think nearly all the Republicans turn on him and he has an aneurysm. Because of that press release today on Bannon, everyone is going to believe what's in Michael Wolff's book. The Fusion GPS Op ed is a big deal and can't be dismissed. They didn't argue. They said release the transcripts.
