You LOCKED DETROIT?!
I <3 Pyperkub.
Of course I also laugh at you. Even I did not lock Detroit. Maybe thats why they lost, I lacked faith.

My picks come as a result of a little bit of energon, and a lot of luck.

The Eagles and Giants looked completely lost for the most part in their 0-2 starts, and Detroit's defense was making a lot of plays in their early games.
The way both teams were playing, Detroit's 21 should have been enough to win the game - too bad it couldn't win the 1st quarter...
Edit: oh, and I also locked KC. When they play at home, they are usually murder on young QB's making their first start in KC. Of course, then I found out it was Holcomb starting....
I almost didn't lock WAS, I had them in a tossup with New Orleans in tonight's game - NO in their first home game on Monday night? Yeah, I remember last year against the Falcons. The only thing that kept me from it was how tough Tennessee looked last week, but I still like NO on the home astroturf.

I hate the Jags. I don't think I've picked one of their games correctly in the last 2 years.

WTH Happened in the Denver game??! 18 rushing attempts when you were leading the league? When did Shanahan turn into Wayne Fontes?! ARGHH!
(And if you locked Detroit on the road and washington at any time, you deserve to lose.)

OH, and one other note for picking this year:
Ancient Brett Favre
Tavaris Jackson
Damon Huard
JP Losman (Well, not anymore I guess)
Half hobbled McNair/Kyle Boller
Jay Cutler
David Gerrard
Derek Anderson
hobbled Daunte Cullpepper/Josh McCown
Joey Harrington
Eli Manning
Jason Campbell
Rex Grossman
Half the league has poor to truly awful qb's. This sucks.

Don't blame the coaching. The Jaguars' run defense appears to be back after the week 1 miscarriage of justice. The Broncos also had about half the time of posession that the Jags did (which means half the chance to run plays).
EDIT: And David Garrard is not a poor to awful QB. He's actually ranked in the top 10 in the league in a lot of areas (running yards, ints not made, QB rating, etc).

I'm trying to grab Trent Green in my main FFL because I have Brees and Grossman. Here I thought QB was going to be one of my strong points. Silly me.
And yes, I knew Grossman sucks, I just have him to fill in week 4 for Brees' bye when the Bears play the Lions.

Well... that wouldn't have worked. Time to adjust the strategy (unless there's some sort of bonus for finishing behind all of the IM entrants?).

OK, Zurai, I will admit my dumping on Garrard is a wee bit premature: he is not poor to awful, but he has two games (out of 32) where he has passed for more than 250 yards, and he has never passed for more than 1800 yards in a season. He certainly is *not* an established QB.

That's more than true. However...
he has two games (out of 32) where he has passed for more than 250 yards, and he has never passed for more than 1800 yards in a season.
Jacksonville is a run-the-ball team, not a pass-the-ball team, and it's kinda unfair to say he's never passed for more than 1800 yards in a season when he's never played a full season.

Picks sent approximately 15 seconds before kick-off of the first game.

Completely forgot about my picks in my hungover stupor this morning and jumped right into cleaning up around the house in preparation for visiting guests arriving on Wednesday. Clicked "send" as Troy Aikman was saying, "Aaaaand, we're just seconds from kick-off..."
Not that it will matter much.

The Cardinals will surprise a lot of people this year. They're a lousy 2 plays away from being 4-0...
Plus, the most difficult part of their schedule (IMHO) is finished.

1) Apologies to all for my horrid job running the pool thus far. Updates have been infrequent (or nonexistant in the case of the website), recaps just as bad.
2) Thanks to Sir Neal, who valiantly bashed through my Excel-charting ineptitude and fixed the chart.
The site is finally up to date. Below, behold WEEK 4 RECAP!
-The average score this week is down more than 10 points from Weeks 1-3.
-In what I believe is a first, we have three Top Dogs, all of whom have already earned the Dumbass award this season (and Theo's done it *twice* already!). As such, if the season ended today, none of the Top Dogs would make the playoffs. Of course it's extremely early, and if their prognosticational powers continue, they'll shoot to the top post-haste.
-The Bears defense--minus *six* defensive starters, including *the entire secondary* (has any team ever lost its entire starting secondary at the same time before?), manage to hold Detroit, *the league's best passing team*, *on the road*, to three points through three quarters. The Bears also blocked two kicks, had 0 Rex Grossman interceptions, and had a Devin Hester return for TD. And they lost. Surely the football gods are wroth.
-New England won its fourth straight game, scoring exactly 38 points in all four. I'm sure teams have scored the same number of points 4 times in a row in the past, but 38?
-Peyton Manning is pretty good.
