Were I a baddy I would be inclined to fake one of the folks who didn't have an order in yet. Seeing a you are only advancing the game on late people who do not have special roles, I would be a bit hush about how many people have or have not sent in orders. It makes me go all meta in my head. (Of course it gives a clever baddie someplace to hide too)

I'm not sure what you mean here. Everyone's orders have to be in before the night moves forward...powered or not, we all have orders to send in.

And I'll send mine in when I'm good and ready, so back off! :P

No. He'll move the game forward if the station only folks miss the deadline. Therefore for him to move the game forward based on missing orders it would have to be station only folks who are missing. It's meta but I'm sorry, my brain goes there. (So long as there is no metahead's worst day)

Did I really do that?

Deadline is 11:00 AM (Eastern) tomorrow.

Request noted. I will be as careful as I can with station order deadlines as I can from now on.

I got a question about this and I realize it is not very clear in the rulez so here goes.

Station Orders Effects Precedence:

1. Number Three locks down a single station. That station will simply show as locked down and unusable however those who visit it will know what station it is.

2. A Henchman activates The Vongooglizer. This effect is secret.

3. A Henchman activates the Life Support station. The Henchman may gas a deck with the Life Support station preventing those affected from doing anything.

4. All other station visited not affected by the above are resolved and reported.

Any questions?

Hmmm, no. It's a "hard deadline." Everyone has to turn in their orders and then he'll move the game forward.

I swear I recall Scoop saying that he was instituting a cap on the stations but was going to be lenient on the specials. I can't find it now though so I might just be dreaming things.

He is just talking about the dagger which you already know about since you know about the medallion.

Yulp. And I think Austin said he was on book 9 or 10. I've only read through book 10, so very little fear of spoilers here!

Deadline for Station Orders Reached!! I am resolving them now.

Austin and Stess: It is true there is not hard deadline for special orders as the station orders may have an effect on them. I have to play it by ear after I see how the station orders resolve. However, I still expect all special orders in by the end of the 25 hour period.

Again, just for everyone information, I expect a 25 hour hard deadline for Station orders and another 24 hour period to resolve the station orders/actions and any special orders.

I got everyone's orders in on time. I want to thank everyone for that.

I want to give everyone a heads up that resolving the station orders may require that I get responses from some players which may take sometime. It is the nature of the game rulez however I will work to reduce all delays. However, I do not expect to start Monday until tomorrow.

Sometime today I will begin sending out station order responses once I have been able to resolve all situations so you will have something to read.

That's going to proceed very, very slowly. 48+hrs to resolve night?!

I think you should mandate a shorter time for station orders. There's absolutely no reason that people cannot know which station they want to try as soon as night falls. Why would choosing a station take 24 hrs past night?

I agree with you both. Grund, your point is valid that folks should be ready to roll but I think what Scoop is trying to avoid is screwing someone out of a move just because they did not check in during the appropriate window. If night falls just after CR sets off to work a 12-14 hour shift he might not catch a short window to put in his orders for one example of a possible hitch.

However, folks should be able to give contingency plans such as: if I find the life support I will hit deck 2, if I find.....etc. Which would speed things up a little bit I expect.

I see burn out happening just like it happened in Stessiers game. I think we do need a mechanism to prevent the game from becoming a marathon. I like Grund's idea. Picking stations is not rocket science.

I like the contingency idea. Also, I don't see how any of the station orders affect the Specials decisions. So get all the orders in within 25 hours and use the contingencies to decide who actually gets to do what (so if someone gases a Special, the Specials orders don't get resolved). It won't be ideal, but it's a compromise to avoid 48 hour nights.

Ok, in an attempt to shorten the night length, I am going to have to make a change to the game.

Communication - The first henchman who accesses this station will be provided with by an invisible bluetooth ear piece by the main computer and choose to secretly communicate any other person of his choice. From the notification until 24 hours real time both of these individuals will be able to secretly exchange PMs. After 24 hours, the ear pieces will silently self-destruct and the moderator will inform them the may no longer exchange PMs. The moderator will inform the players when the may no longer PM each other.

Since, I need to receive all station orders before allowing someone to use the communication station, I am going to allow the person using it to communicate 24 hours real time after I notify the the players by PM. This 24 hours can slide into the new day.

This will help speed up the nights. Im sorry the rule change is so late but I think it is warrented and should not affect game play. Any issues with this?

I am all for everyone having to have their orders in by a specific time whether they can use em or not. As for if they have something to do with stations, why not have em post contingencies....

Example:
I'm going to station 1 (This is an example people)
if its:
Security - Station 2 is my scan
Life Support - I''m gassing the Austin/Semaj/Grund Deck (only deck I paid attention to dont ask me for a number, lol)
Communication - Let me talk with kraegor, I wanna see his opinions on pissing on an electric fence.
Sickbay/Access Log - Nothing I do matters here
The Vongooglizer - I'ma need some kinda feedback on this one.. I think...

I think it would move shit along immensely if he could figure out what occurs and as quickly as possible.
Some claim to be things they aren't.

Some claim to know more than they ever will.
I don't claim anything, because no one would believe the truth anyways.

I also changed the rulez for Fat Bastard since his powers are similar to the communications station.

Fat Bastard
(2) Since everyone hates him, whoever Fat Bastard has decided to visit will be given a great deal of privacy, therefore, Fat Bastard and the person he is visiting can PM for 24 hours (real time) from notification from the moderator (players will be informed by the moderator when they can PM and when PMs must end). This may slide into the next day.

Q about fat bastard: could it be possibly, if the day goes fast enough ,that fat bastard could have 2 communications up at the same time?

Also, Damn am I unlucky.. in WoT game, I went in the first night to get a item which I didn't even get, and in this game, first night to go to a station and it's under lockdown... *sigh*

"Please report to conference room in 5 minutes. Thank you.", a robotic sounding female voice announces through out the submarine.

Everyone files into the conference room and takes their seats. Everyone looks about but mainly remains silent.

Dr. Evil walks in 5 minutes later and takes his seat at the head of the conference table. Dr. Evil looks puzzled and starts to count each henchman, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... Who is missing?"

Everyone looks around the table when Number 2 walks in hurriedly and whispers in Dr. Evil's ear.

"What? So, was it Powers?"

Number Two shakes his head. Dr. Evil looks upset and turns to the henchmen sitting at the conference table.

"It has come to my understanding that we have already lost one of our evil henchmen. Grundbegriff was found shot last night in his cabin and his body has been sent to the morgue."

Dr. Evil shakes his head.

"We know that Austin Powers and Vanessa Kensington are aboard and in this room with us now. We also know that they are prepared to kill. I am sure that some of you have suspicions as to who our opponents are. I propose this. Vote amongst yourselves who you think is one of the agents and once you reach a majority of the vote, I shall execute that person, TODAY."

A nervous murmur issues from the henchmen.

"I will be in my suite with Number 2 planning our next evil deed. Don't fail me!" and in a rush Dr. Evil and Number 2 head for the door. As they walk out the door can be heard locking.

Is that a hint that Grund was non-powered one, or was it just for the story?

We have to assume everyone playing is a henchmen. (This is meant for mipe people) As in, Mustafah is a henchmen, Fat Bastard is a henchmen... we are all henchmen of Dr. Evil. Get it?

That wasn't a clue, the people running these games do a fine job of not giving away hints no matter how many times I think they are.

Now the question becomes, why grund? Why wasn't there a conversion? Was grund a conversion attempt gone bad or are the good guys laying false breadcrumbs?
Some claim to be things they aren't.
Some claim things they don't deserve.
Some claim to know more than they ever will.
I don't claim anything, because no one would believe the truth anyways.

Yes, this is possible. He could access the Communications Station and also Visit/Protect someone on the same night. He could then PM both players (if they arent the same one) for 24 hours (real time).

Uhh.. I more think it like this:
Person X is a Fat Bastard. At about 1 hour before the deadline, he sends the order to protect/communicate with person Y. The day goes fast, in something like, 10hours, still leaving 13 more hours of talking. Then Fat Bastard immediatily protects user Z. Would that break the communication with Y or could Bastard talk with Y and Z same time?

Ok, everyone. I have fixed the problem I had with the communication station and Fat Bastard's power where I needed to give them time to use their communication power.

Going forward we should be able to have a hard 25 hour time limit where everyone must get their orders in. I will still need someone time after the deadline to resolve certain issues (ask people what they want to do) but I expect this will not take 24 hours.

I hope everyone can be patient while I wrestle with moderating this game and keeping things flowing as quickly as I can.

Thanks in advance.

Ahh, I see what you are asking.

Yes, the Fat Bastard's communication would be broken at the end of the day even if the day last less than the 24 hours (real time).
