Three day service and no loaner? I guess they sold them all. Did they offer any options to help you out there?
No loaner offered, but I didn't ask either. I didn't think it would be there long - figured it would just be a confirmation that the light was out and issue was not currently present and I'd be on my way.

NBC News
DETROIT — General Motors plans to end production of its electric Chevrolet Bolt models by the end of this year, CEO Mary Barra told investors Tuesday when discussing the company’s first-quarter earnings.

The Chevy Bolt EV and EUV, a larger version of the car, make up the vast majority of the company’s electric vehicle sales to date. However, the battery cells in the cars are an older design and chemistry than the automaker’s newer vehicles such as the GMC Hummer and Cadillac Lyriq, which utilize GM’s Ultium architecture.

Barra said a suburban Detroit plant that has produced Bolt models since 2016 will be retooled in preparation for production of electric trucks scheduled for next year.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Just saw this. Before the announcement, I was trying to get in line to get one. This is disappointing. The Equinox is supposed to start under 30k as well - I guess I'll have to check that one out.

Not only did I finally get in line, but I took delivery of the Bolt EUV on Friday! This was tempered a bit because of our house AC replacement eating my down payment money - so things are going to be unusually tight for a few months while I rebuild our savings, but the car itself is pretty nice. I got the Premiere version which has a sun roof (the first time I've ever had one), the upgraded stereo (nice), and cooled seats (another first - very, very nice). I have just over 100 miles on it now and compared to the standard Bolt, the EUV has seats that are more comfortable, the rearview mirror is nicer and higher definition, and the infotainment center is nicer. I miss a bit of customizing the home screen (there is a permanent Navigation panel which is going to be useless when the trial subscription runs out), but otherwise I am so far pleased. My only complaint is that the windows don't have any thermal barrier like the Mach E. I didn't think I'd mind, but we took the Mach E to pick up the Bolt and the difference was stark. Tinting has moved way up the priority list.

The buying process was also the best I've ever had. I made contact online as well as placed the order and they took the deposit online. The first time I stepped in the dealership was Friday and we were out in about 60 minutes. Most of that time seemed to be the sales guy trying to set up accounts with Chevy which was made difficult because I already had everything because of my other Bolt. They were very nice, took "No" for an answer without any hard upsell tactics, and let me use my own financing. If anyone is in the area and needs something from GM, look up Woodruff Chevrolet in Woodruff, SC!

It would really be awesome if the seats provided "coolsculpting".

Just got an email from Chevy that they are bringing the Bolt back. No other details - but it looks like they uncanceled it.

Ultium, and they'll do it 'fast,' with little in the way of specifics. Still, good news.

Driver OK, but extremely shook up and mad at dumb deer and traffic accident that put me on that alternate route home. Wish I could pay insurance deductible in jerky, but was unable to find the would be assassin. Only had 5280 mikes on it. :(

$8700 in repair costs (that includes my $500 deductible).

Does anyone have any experience with Diminished Value claims? I was unaware of such a thing but found out about it this weekend. It seems my best bet is to hire a professional to negotiate with the insurance company. Does that seem right?

IANAL and IAAlsoNAInsuranceAgent, but my general experience has been that your own insurance policy probably excludes DV claims. I've only seen it successfully pursued against another driver who is at-fault in an incident, and on fairly high-value vehicles (eg near-new Models S/X). In this case you're only dealing with your own policy, so I would scour your fine print before spending much more time on this.

My direct experience was after I was rear-ended in the X during its 2nd year on the road, but the other driver was uninsured, out of state, and the CO troopers didn't feel like putting forth a lot of effort. So it fell to my insurance, which was Progressive at the time. They specifically excluded DV claims.

Everything I just said outside of the Progressive piece may be big wrong, so YMMV. Best of luck getting speedy repairs.

First came the "Super Pigs", now it looks like "Super Deer" too! Makes me feel a bit better about that chunk of tire that hit my hood on the 6th day of owning the only brand new vehicle I ever owned. Maybe not since I'm still mentioning it twenty-five years later.

I lost remote access and battery management to the 2019 Bolt today after 5 years. Frustrating. $15/month if I wanted a plan that has that access. Simply insane. I could see $5/month even though I'd hate paying it the whole time, but no way at $15.

Still haven't gotten this car back. There is a national part shortage for the seat belt. I'm fortunate in that I have another car, but this is quite annoying.

Got it back today!

Sad trombone - it has to go back. Left front blinker doesn't work, large panel gap on the driver side door, and I found a safety restraint control module and metric bolt driver on the floor which gives me pause.
