Inspection... sticker? This thing. I know it not.

Around here registration requires paying the fee. If the vehicle is from out of state, you have to have it inspected, which consists of a $5 fee for a cop to double-check the VIN.
I don't think there's much evidence that annual safety inspections make the roads any safer. They probably do make the air cleaner by forcing us to maintain our emission controls systems...but they're mostly a boondoggle for repair shops and the state.

Fortunately, I've found a trustworthy gas station to do my inspections...it doesn't hurt to have a qualified mechanic giver my 12-year-old car a once-over every year.

Texas has annual inspections, but tack on a 200% more emissions test if you live in one of the big cities. No worries if you're spewing carbon all over West Texas.

We are disabled and just dont do stuff that others do every day.
Neither of us is disabled but we can be somewhat slothful and rarely go out for entertainment so I can relate. I do a fair amount of computer gaming for very little money by getting into older games that I already own. JA2, Civ4, Mount and Blade can all suck me back in very quickly. On the other hand there are tons of things other than gaming.

Reading - as suggested libraries are great deals. You can also find free ebooks but I have had less success with that route.

Netflix might be out of your budget but I think its a great deal.

The only thing I do that is different is that I love researching things. I can spend tons of time planning and researching how to make something (a fiberglass boat or submarine, various robots or mechanical devices, apps both useful ones and games, a rocket stove based outdoor grill, and so forth). Sometimes I'll end up starting on the project and a few have gone a little farther than that but other than robotics projects that are connected to my team I tend to just blow time thinking and tinkering. Bertrand Russell would approve and the thinking part is free but I don't know how that would translate on a no money budget. Electromechanical art from found objects does fascinate me and can be sort of low cost.

Gardening although I don't remember if that would be possible in your situation.

BTW, the vision of what to do with free time is something that scares me. I always have something to do right now but I'm 2 years away from the point that we (my wife and I) decided was our earliest retirement date. Financially we're in good shape (it would be a voluntary early retirement) and there are certainly times when I'd like to stop working for a living but I worry about how I'd do without some built in thing forcing me to be less slothful.

At the end of the 2014 season (the day after Harbaugh left):
How accountable are you and Trent for what went wrong this season?
JY [CEO Jed York]: “We’re all accountable.”

In what ways?
JY: “We didn’t win the Super Bowl. If we don’t win the Super Bowl, we’re not executing on our vision. Our mission is very simple: the San Francisco 49ers win with class. We haven’t won, and I don’t think we’ve conducted ourselves with the level of class that I expect of our organization. We’ve had off-the-field issues. That’s going to happen in sports. The level that it’s happened here is not unacceptable.”
Does class beget winning or does winning beget class? I guess going 5-11 and having neither, it's a moot question. I wonder if it's a Chip Kelly concert.

I'm going to suggest that if you're in a doctor's office waiting room, talking on your cellphone and repeatedly muttering, "I can't really say because of where I am..." maybe that's a good sign you shouldn't be yapping on your goddamn phone? At some point I faded into a fantasy world where I was delivering flying axe-handles and figure-four leg locks to get this person to shut the f- up. I weep for our culture. WEEP.

There is a woman at my gym who sits slowly peddling one of the recumbent bicycles, talking loudly over her headset phone. Just jabbering away as though she were encased in a cone of silence. Gawd I hate her.

Have you ever actually told her how loud she is? Could be smart assed and go "Hey we're not deaf. If you really want us to listen in on your phone calls you could talk 50% quieter and we could still hear you.

Man, I had a horrible rehearsal last night. It's like my ear wasn't connected to my brain and I could not for the life of me tune in on this note that we're supposed to start a section of the barbershop with. We'd start it, I'd miss the note. We'd go back, I would listen to it a couple of times, I'd lock in on it, I'd sing it OK, and then we would come back like 5 minutes later and it was gone again. It was so god damn frustrating. And the more I would screw it up, the worse it would get. I felt bad for the other guys, having to spend so much time concentrating on that one part.

Barbershop is hard, man. Well, hard for a rank amateur like me.

I see it is a just a show. I don't really understand what reality TV is beyond shows like The Kardashians or perhaps up to The Apprentice where it's a game show plus interviews and the candid interviews somehow bring a reality to the programming, I guess, maybe?

Five things not to do in an F-14 Tomcat:
  1. Intentional spins
  2. No zero or negative G maneuvers in excess of 10 seconds with afterburner operating or 20 seconds at military power (full throttle without afterburner) or less
  3. No AIM-9 launch with landing flaps and slats extended
  4. No Fuel dumping with afterburner operating or with speed brakes extended
  5. No rolling maneuvers with angle of bank change greater than 360 degrees.

You don't typically want to dump fuel except when necessary and then it is safer not to burn it.

Using an afterburner isn't 'dumping' fuel. Dumping fuel is used to reduce weight so you don't crater by trying to land while too heavy.
