I went to a Dodger's game when I was in LA with my son back in July. They were celebrating Japanese Heritage Night and George Takei was there to throw out one of the opening pitches at 87 years old...Oh My!

I’ve started learning Japanese kanji, and the word for “good at” is 上手い, pronounced umai. My memory aid for the pronunciation is to think someone is so good at something that George Takei says “oh my”.

That also means "so good!" apparently. As in "this bento box is umai!"

Or at least that's the context I've heard it in.
Interesting! Just went down a little rabbit hole looking into that. Apparently it's the same pronunciation, but different symbols (so I guess a homophone). Also, the 'tastes good' usage is supposed to be pronounced umei, but umai has become a very common colloquialism.

Makes me think of how a non-english speaker may be trying to understand my kid's use of the word 'fire'.
It technically means: .... .... ... and now it's beign used as .... .... ... but some kids actually mean that it's .... .... .... ....

Neat! I'm actually glad you investigated because I was not confident, but it seemed to be the same word so I thought I'd mention it. Now I know better.

Careful, you'll trigger LM.
That is another one that definitely didn't need the caption.

We had some calculator prank in middle school where you'd end up handing a flat-chested girl a calculator whose results read 55378008

Does it bother you as much as the useless red circle?
Nooooooooo.... But then I don't know what this means.

I haven't seen these kinds of examples before. Not enough to notice them. However, I'll notice them now. And, now, they will also annoy me. Bastards!
However... I don't feel that the 3rd example is relevant. To me that's a training/instruction image. I often use red circles when I'm documenting how to do something. That wouldn't phase me at all.

I was just being snarky - and not being serious.

I don't mind the red circles when they highlight something obscure or hard to see. Highlighting the obvious is just grating.

Fair enough. Though you do have me nervous that there are actually people circling the obvious in their photos. And now I'll be triggered if I come across it!
