Yup. And those from the Vermont Bread Co. are one of those rare products I'll pay a premium price for.
The only function of bread at breakfast, sans sandwich, is to sop up yolk and grease. English works better than regular toast for that but I'm not picky.
I'm sick as a dog, and wobbly just sitting in my chair. And yet, this thread has me on the verge of going down to the store just to buy some English muffins.
To be fair, adolescent power fantasy tripe is way easier to write than absurd existential horror, and every community has got to start somewhere... right?
Unless one loses a precious thing, he will never know its true value. A little light finally scratches the darkness; it lets the exhausted one face his shattered dream and realize his path cannot be walked. Can man live happily without embracing his wounded heart?
When you show up to Hot Dog Johnny's, don't ask if they take VISA when the sign reads, CASH ONLY. I mean, I'll feel bad for you as I'm stuffing my face with a hot dog, but man...cash. It's been a long time since I've seen an adult walk away and I can hear the sad Hulk music in my head.
Personally, I might root for Coca-Cola Black Cherry Vanilla to make a comeback. Current cherry colas just don't seem to compare.

Plenty of other places that will. I don't carry physical money any more, so I have no problem leaving the groceries at the checkout. Of course, if I saw a big sign saying cash only, I would figure it to be one of the famous New Jersey money launderies.

Sadly, it's a lot lower-finance than that. After covering all costs most small businesses are doing well if they can eke out 5-10% in profit, so avoiding 2-3% for payment processing off the top line makes a big difference on the bottom line.
At the risk of setting myself up to get rolled...I try to keep a $20 bill with me for just such occasions. Sometimes I carry that same Jackson for months, but sooner or later I'm always glad I do.
I've gotten ticked a time or two when I walked in and was told cash only, but I very quickly learned what places do that and simply don't go there. My bank doesn't have an ATM anywhere near me, and I'm not paying the foreign ATM fees.
I'm also in the English Muffins are the "best breakfast bread" camp; any other camp needs an atomic wedgie.
I've also discovered that they work reasonably well as buns for grilled cheeseburgers. They don't soak up grease like a regular bun, but they've got good flavor to make up for that.

The only places around here that are cash only are worth going to the ATM for first. One is a seasonal fried haddock stand where all they do is fried haddock and the owner of the place owns the boat that catches the fish - so everything they serve is mighty fresh and delicious. They also have fries, which sadly aren't that great and go cold very quickly, but the fish more than makes up for it. Another is a seasonal ice cream place that has the absolute best black raspberry I've ever had.

Adding anything maple to anything that isn't a pancake or waffle (or, occasionally, oatmeal) automatically drops it to the bottom of the list.
Real Maples syrup mostly is just a light sweet. It doesn't have an exaggerated flavor or sweetness like the stuff you pick up in grocery aisle. Since my old man started tapping maple trees, I find that I will sometimes use maple syrup as a cane sugar substitute in recipes that call for sugar, particularly for things that use brown sugar. It really goes well chocolate chip cookies and BBQ sauce. The sweet is much more mello than a brown sugar sweet and it give just a very very very tiny extra different flavor which is a good tiny extra different flavor.
I still always carry cash. I rarely use it but I always carry it. I prefer to tip in cash and on the rare occasion I go to the bar I pay in cash. Any expense under $5 is usually in cash. I pull $300 from the ATM at a time and that generally lasts me several months or even seasons.

To re-iterate, I'm talking about maple cream. I put syrup on pancakes and waffles. Maple cream is for spreading, or maybe eating directly with a spoon. I have plenty of syrup and would never waste the cream on a pancake or waffle.

Recruiter calling me at work. The first time in a long time. That's ballsy. The horrible thing is that if I were actually qualified for the position they called about, I probably would have entertained the thought or at least listened to their offer for salary.

Cookies and fudge to name just 2 that refute your claim.
Fudge is the top proof of my position on maple. Donuts are at #2.
I used to be with you with the maple icing on donuts thing, until I discovered a long john with maple icing and two strips of bacon on top.
