Los Angeles based attorney Gloria Allred held a press conference on Tuesday during which she announced that former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos filed a defamation lawsuit against President-elect Donald Trump, accusing him of lying about touching her in a sexually inappropriate way.
...
Allred also suggested she may attempt to subpoena copies of unaired, unedited outtakes from the Apprentice show. There has been quite a bit of media speculation about what conversations may have been captured, in light of the Access Hollywood tapes that included Trump making lewd remarks.

The lawsuit was filed in New York on Tuesday morning. Zervos offered to dismiss the lawsuit without any compensation if Trump is willing to admit she was telling the truth about her claims.

Summer Zervos, a contestant on The Apprentice, has appeared at a press conference with her lawyer to announce legal action against President-elect Donald Trump for defamation.

Zervos was a contestant on Trump's reality show The Apprentice in 2006. She said at a news conference on October 14 in Las Vegas that Trump tried to get her to lie down on a bed with him when she met him in 2007 to discuss a possible job.

Zervos said she complied with a request to sit next to Trump, and, "He then grabbed my shoulder and began kissing me very aggressively and placed his hand on my breast."

And why is John Barry so quick to slam his first cousin, and have a comment prepared for to my forum's troll to share so soon after her news conference?

I mean, I was kinda skeptical about it, but an e-mail and a comment from her first cousin?

Man, I don't know how you can possibly argue with that.

You can dismiss all the reports in the world - I've heard enough out of Trump's own mouth to know how he treats women.

I love the part how Trump would visit children in hospitals without even telling the press.

that's priceless.

His visits to hospitals weren't announced to the press because he was there gathering souls for his master.

Times like this I'm left to wonder why women are hesitant to report sexual violence.

Today's spin on the the wheel of derp lands on...German auto manufacturers!
"If you want to build cars in the world, then I wish you all the best. You can build cars for the United States, but for every car that comes to the USA, you will pay 35 percent tax," Trump said in remarks translated into German.

"I would tell BMW that if you are building a factory in Mexico and plan to sell cars to the USA, without a 35 percent tax, then you can forget that," Trump said.
Trump better be careful here. Taxing BMW and Mercedes might actually affect something his rich cronies care about.

Seriously? Why would a rich person care about a single 35% tax on an imported 'luxury' good? I personally witnessed a billionaire spend over $1.5 million to get a single door built for his boat. It wasn't even diamond-encrusted.

That quote was a huge deal here. We have a BMW plant where they made ~400k vehicles last year. It was interesting to see all these people who voted for him going "Woah, woah, woah - let's not talk crazy!"

Is it me, or is this a really weird quote?
“It’s made up. Never existed. Never happened,” Trump continued, speaking specifically about the unverified report regarding the prostitutes. “And the reason I say that so strongly because nothing is ever going to show up. There’s never going to be a tape that shows up. There’s never going to be anything that shows up. Now, I would be very embarrassed if a tape actually showed up, saying something like that. It would be double embarrassed because I’m saying there is no tape. There is no event. I was never even in that room for that period of time.”
Was a date (or year?) ever provided? Or was there just speculation that it might have been during the Miss Universe pageant in 2013? Regardless, the second part of the quote really has me puzzled. It's like he's saying he doesn't believe there's a recording of what happened, and if one appears, boy will he be red-faced. But it didn't happen, so there's nothing to worry about. It just sounds like...a very weird denial.

This part is the weirdest. As in, yeah, it happened, but I had left the room already. But of course that's only the interpretation if the speaker can put together coherent thoughts. Considering almost everything Trump says is similarly confusing, I'm not sure I put much weight on how he said this denial.

Because not just rich people buy BMWs?

A 35% tax on my BMW in 2009 would have equated to more than a $14,000 tax bill. Oy.

Also, what about, say, Volkswagen? You think Joe Public would want to pay a 35% tax on his new Jetta or Golf? Not everyone wants an American car, after all.

To be fair, Trump isn't exactly another Toastmaster General. Hell, he's not even a Toastmaster Private. The guy fucks up his wording on a minute by minute basis.

You do recognize there is a wide range between people who can afford a BMW and billionaires right?

I don't understand how you link these two even.

I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be the breaking point at work when I tell some of my co-workers I don't give a flying fuck about the inauguration.

I'm pretty much surrounded by pro-Trumpers who by and large believe I'm also pro-Trump since A) I've always been a conservative as long as they've known me and B) I have kept my mouth shut this election.

However, I'm sure they're all going to be trying to watch it at work and discussing it (loudly) and wondering why I'm not sporting a humongous boner because Trump is President.

Once upon a time, foreign cars were much more expensive, so it didn't matter. Everyone pretty much bought American, no matter how crappy the product. Then around the mid-70's, foreign cars were no longer so expensive. And they were of much higher quality and with more standard features than American-made crap.

This forced American automakers to stop making such crappy cars. Now the pressure will be off and they can return to selling us garbage, knowing that's all we'll be able to afford.

Thank you Orange Fuckface.

Mini Coopers fall under BMW, too, and they start at $20k or so. VW Jettas start at like $17k.

I've made it abundantly clear to the one person in our office who is a Trump supporter that I will in no way, shape or form discuss politics with her. If she even makes a joke at Trump's expense, I immediately end it with "We're not having this discussion, sorry.". She's become a bit perturbed with me over that a couple of times, but the alternative is far, far worse.
