Also members of Congress can get even classified material out by introducing it into the Congressional record,, by either reading it on the floor of Congress, or (under certain circumstances) via committee meeting.

Getting approval to publish the memo would be the best option, but if they had to they could go this route.

Somehow it's not totally implausible that Trump would sell out Jared or even Don Jr to buy leniency for himself.

True story - we call the monthly team meetings we hold at work to discuss approval of Microsoft Office license requests "the secret society." (Not as a result of this investigation - we were doing this months ago).

But I can affirm that we are not, in fact, an *actual* secret society bent on denying people access to Excel. Maybe. :ninja:

Oh good, drudge says Drumpf will testify under oath.

Although I find the idea that he's staring down Meuller odd and meaningless in this context.

What does that even mean? They aren't wrestlers. They aren't even opponents.

"Don't worry, Mr. President, this won't take long. Obviously you're innocent, because there's no way you are smart enough to knowingly collude with Russian intelligence during your presidential campaign."
"What? No, I'm the smartest at collusion! I colluded with the Russians the best!"
"Impossible! How could that even be possible?"
"I'll tell you! No one thought it was possible, but I knew that it would work like this..."

I'm kind of oddly fascinated by Tiffany Trump. The other Trump kids (excepting Barron, at least for the moment) are clear pieces of shit. But Tiffany seems to be mostly excluded from their activities. Is that her not wanting to be a part of it, or being excluded? Is it possible that she's actually a decent human being? What does she make of all of this?

Is that the narrative conservatives are latched onto to somehow...I have no idea what they expect to do with the "secret society" at the FBI.

What's the plan? It's a conspiracy to keep Drumpf from becoming president? That...worked out great. My response is "If only!"

Fox News’ Sean Hannity said Wednesday night on “Hannity” that the Justice Department has started recovering some of the missing texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, citing DOJ sources.

Federal law enforcement officials had notified congressional committees that a technical glitch affected thousands of FBI cellphones between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017. This meant that 5 months’ worth of texts would be missing from Strzok and Page, both of whom are under scrutiny after it was revealed that the former members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team exchanged anti-Trump texts during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Hannity said sources at the DOJ told him they have begun to recover some of the texts from that time period. Specific content from those texts has not been released.

The missing messages have caused problems for the Justice Department inspector general's office.

I definitely think experienced FBI agents would casually text each other on unsecured devices about an actual secret society and call it a “secret society.” I mean obviously.

Trump under oath wouldn't be all that great for him. I think everyone (even his supporters) know that he lies about a lot of things...most of them just stupid shit no one else would care about. And I know his followers wouldn't care (he's already proven that he could shoot a nun on TV and his worshipers would fill Fox News comment sections with praises on how he held the gun), but I just want him brought up on charges...even if nothing comes of it. It would give Biden (or whoever...but damn I want Biden) more ammo during the 2020 campaign.

It seems like the main reason Trump wants to testify under oath is because of his repeated claim that Clinton wasn't under oath when talking with the FBI (which, in Trump's mind, obviously means she lied about everything). It would be great if the cause of Trump's downfall is his insistence to do the opposite of anything Clinton and Obama ever did.

Pretty sure the FBI could lock you away for a long time if you lied to them, under oath or not.

The FBI can lie to you. You can't lie to the FBI.

I'm continuously amazed at how the Trump administration feels like they can just talk shit about anyone (FBI, CIA, media, other countries), and not face any repercussions for it. If you're going to run your mouth, you shouldn't be surprised when someone smacks it.

I mean think about it - Trump's been calling Chuck Schumer "Cryin' Chuck Schumer" forever, and then he expects to just walk into a room with him and cut a deal. That's not how life works. You don't shit on people and then expect them to turn around and kiss your ass. God I hate him.

And brag about his alpha presence concurrently with what a great deal maker he is. That his support refuse to see how pathological he is.

Trump used bullying and verbal abuse whenever he stiffed a partner or a contractor. After the job was done, they would come to a meeting expecting to have the work approved and arrangement made for final payment, and Trump would suddenly and inexplicably tear into them with insults and denials and threats to sue. This was his way of intimidating people into accepting less money.

And, and FWIW, the "Cryin' Chuck" insult refers to a time Schumer teared up in public while discussing relatives murdered by the Nazis. No doubt the Alt-Right gets a big kick out of the joke.
