If you are the one in front of some dimwit jackass then blackmail him into giving you all his food and liqueur or you'll lean back the entire flight and sleep in his lap

If it's of any consequence, I haven't been on a plane since 2009, I think, and I intend to keep that streak going for a good while longer. Work has been amenable to this so far.

I haven't been on a plane since 1994.
The airlines new rules and restrictions have guaranteed I'll never fly again.
Not that I'm not allowed just that I hate the airlines and the airport security checks.

On a flight from (I honestly don't remember, it was either Phoenix or Albuquerque) I got stuck in the very last row so, not only could I not recline even if I wanted to, the guy in front of me went full on recliner mode as soon as we were in the air. I couldn't put my tray table down as it would have been in my chest and so was forced to hold my drink out in the aisle.
Then he takes his laptop out and pops in a DVD. So I'm thinking maybe I'll get a chance to at least watch something interesting (without sound of course) to take my mind off of my discomfort.
Nope.
M. Night Shyamalan's Signs.
Since his stupid, dandruffy, balding head blocked half my view of the screen, I spent the next two hours watching the left half of a shitty movie.
I was sorely tempted to ask for a cup of water so that I could fake sneeze all over the top of this dudes head for the rest of the flight or until he pulled his seat back up.

Excellent question LM. I'd almost suggest we have a competition, as my wife does most of my shopping, and if we're not doing family stuff (or shoveling) I'm free to walk around in my PJ's all day...if I can withstand the passive aggressiveness. Psst, I can.

I figure I do family on Christmas. I want to see Star Wars and Dr Strange. I'll want to see them on separate days. If I do all my groceries on movie days I think I can get away with pants on three days. That's got to be pretty competitive and is likely my very real goal unless stuff (like shoveling or being unexpectedly social) comes up but I rather doubt it's the winner.

I don't go back in to the office until January 2nd. I need to go to the grocery store today for items of sustenance for the impending hordes of persons descending on our household, but otherwise I intend to spend all of my time between now and then (excepting sleeping and showering, for which both activities require no clothing) in my Minions onesie, except when I'm laundering it, when I will be in my plaid pajamas.

There has to be some chance that we'd go see Rogue One during the break.

So at 1:20 this afternoon, we had a complete systems lock on the core app we use to do business. I fight with it for a while, but time is money and I opt to reboot the server to see if it corrects itself. By 1:36, service was restored and we were back up and running.
In reviewing the logs for the server and app, I discovered that a vendor had logged into the database at 1:15 - just prior to the incident. I've told them repeatedly to not do this, and thought I had closed their ability to connect during the day, and periodically one of them bounces off that and gets confused and asks me to unlock everything so they can come in - which I flatly decline and advise them to give me a scope of work and offer to open it for them after-hours.
So, anyway, I get myself into a frothing mad state - email with screenshots of the log file typed up - fire and brimstone about one of their people finding a way to bypass my security and disrupt our production today - and I address it to their entire senior team and our executives as my next to last step. As a final step, I proof-read everything.
The log is 01:15. Not 1:15. It's on a 24-hour clock, not a 12-hour one. My brain goes slack, and I carefully move my mouse over the "TO" and "CC" fields and delete everyone there, then delete the email. They had permission to work at 1:15 this morning, and weren't in at 1:15 this afternoon. It was just a 'normal' application failure...

One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was that anytime you find yourself typing angrily, step away from the PC entirely for at least 15 minutes. That has saved me embarrassment or unnecessary conflict on countless occasions.

It's Christmas time!
If you never wanted to imagine both Donny and Marie Osmond made up and sitting Lolita-like on the knowing lap of beloved show regular Paul Lynde, well,
too late.

I start my rotation tomorrow morning at 05:30. Working 23, 24 and 25 at 05:30. 26 and 27 at 17:30. Hoping we have a very slow 24-25-26.

There's always someone behind you and not reclining that 1.5 degrees is added level of torture to the hell that is being confined to a space designed to tightly pack a 1950's built average adult male.
You're one of my favorite people on the board, but if I'm ever stuck behind you on a flight I will direct focused beams of pure hatred into the back of your head. I went the entire flight there and back never reclining my seat because I'm a decent human being who has regard for his fellow man.
When asshats recline in my face, I drive my knee into the back of the seat, repeatedly. They will get no comfort for making me miserable. Sometimes I'm able to exert enough pressure that the asshole's seat won't recline all the way, then they try to force it and it rebounds and flings them forward. And I silently laugh.
I've had to decline meal service on flights before because I've not been able to extend the tray.
When I can, I choose a bulkhead or exit row seat.

Sitting at my father's place staring at the Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Christmas decoration that he's painted because they were supposedly fading. Unfortunately, he gave Snow White about seven layers of dark black on her eyebrows, and attempted to add shade or something under the chin. The result is disturbing. It's like Snow White as played by Big Pussy from the Sopranos.
