This is exactly why we didn't elect George W. Bush. A DUI is disqualifying.

What are Waltz’s strengths? I’m sure there are many but he’s got supreme powers according to trump:
“He’ll unleash HELL ON EARTH…”
https://www.mediaite.com/news/trump-was ... -on-earth/

This is an obvious lie of course, Minnesota was already hell on earth before Walz arrived…

Yes the Book burning English teachers association just emailed me to warn me of the dangers of the semantic undermining of the language and how if unchecked that could lead to our children questioning the world around them rather than doing what they are told.

This danger has fully tipped me back from the Rino column to full Maga.

Wow, I love this guy already. That's the first clip I watched of him.

I love how quick he is, as well. The "turkey is not meat in Minnesota" come-back to his daughter was great! :D

Democrats seem to have so many good candidates now that it was surprising that a while ago, they were stuck with an old Biden and didn't dare to consider someone else. Now we see that there are so many good Democrat politicians that can be good VP candidate or even president candidate.

"...not in Minnesota; turkey's a vegetable."

Reminds me of the first time I brought future Wife home to meet the parents, and mom wondered what she should serve for dinner. I told her Wife's a vegetarian. Mom searched her mental recipe database and came up with "But she eats chicken, right?"

As a life long Minnesotan, I am :coffee:. I just think of the impression I had of the Minneapolis mayor and him during the 2020 Minneapolis riots. I just thought they were a couple of milk drinkers (Skyrim).

I don't think Vernor's is really a Michigan thing any more (even if it says 313) but still, mmm, Vernor's. The MSU sweatshirt could be divisive among factions, but as an apathetic Huron/Emu, I don't care. I guess, not drinking anymore, kept him drinking a Bell's or such. Maybe coulda done Faygo or Towne Club with a bag of Better Made.

I never had a taste for Vernor's myself, but all of my MI friends and family treat it like a sacrament. And although I'm a Spartan alum and the green-and-white evokes fond memories, I'd still have a warm reaction if he were wearing the colors of that other university.

This piece from CNN on the VP vetting process pretty much confirms Harris picked Walz because (1) he’s not ambitious, doesn’t plan to run for President, and won’t outshine her in the same way Shapiro might have; and (2) Shapiro was seen as a liability because of attacks from the left regarding Gaza.

I get it. But I feel like having Shapiro on the ticket might have been a smarter long-term move to the extent - if the players could put their egos aside - it might have paved the way for an exciting future for the Dems.

But, on the other hand, we’re not really in long-term planning mode right now, are we? There’s one prime directive and it’s paramount: Beat Trump and the MAGAts. If Walz offers the best chance of that, sign me up.
