Re: Friday Timewaster
I'm just below 9, whether I touch type or not. It's weird because I type at a good 70 WPM, but I never fully learned to touch type. I'm constantly glancing down at the keyboard for verification and to adjust my position, but functionally I don't need to look.
The timeline game is a lot of fun and some guessing doesn't undermine the game, but man there are some cards you're just not going to have an idea about without a very specific history degree. It feels good when you get an answer right from context though.

I keep instinctively hitting enter after I finish.

If I close my eyes, I can get to 6 seconds.

After a few practice rounds, I got it to 5.060. I kept stumbling around WXYZ. My left pinky and ring finger did not want to cooperate.

5.491 when I looked at the keyboard and touch typed rather than stare at the screen and touch type. Think I might be able to shave a bit more off with a few more tries.stessier wrote: Mon Feb 07, 2022 1:59 pm https://typethealphabet.app/
See how fast you can type the alphabet.
6.938s is my current record.

6 seconds, 92%. I've gotten awful.
/edit - I pulled 60 WPM on one of their non-alphabet tests, which isn't as fast as I used to be, but isn't as awful as I'd feared. It was really weird taking a typing test where I was expected to actually use backspace. I think the last time I took a typing test was on an IBM Selectric.

Each day, there are five trivia questions covering anything and everything under the sun. You get up to three clues for each question, with more points for using the fewest number of clues. It's just a really solid and engaging little trivia quiz.

Dragonsweeper: it's Minesweeper with monsters. The number in each revealed cell shows the total level of monsters in all adjacent cells (regular monsters are 1-11, mines are 100).

Beat it. But it took a number of tries. Some because I was still trying to suss out how it works. But I enjoyed it. Thanks for posting!
Full disclosure, I played 100s of hours of minesweeper in college. So this was right up my alley.

This about to be my first win, but I never found the one, red-headed, level zero guy.
What does he do? And based on the state of my game in this screenshot is it possible to uncover him and still win?

Re: Friday Timewaster
I became afraid that this browser game would time-out before I heard from anyone so I won by defeating the dragon.
After the win, I was given a final score of 255.
I suppose my score would be a lot higher if I hadn't used all my hearts uncovering more squares when I could have killed the dragon much earlier.
I wonder how the final score is calculated.
FYI, the red-headed level zero guy is worth 10 gold when you find him.

Re: Friday Timewaster
You definitely don't need to find everything to win. A full clear isn't necessary. But I would assume that, if you are going to score, then you'd want to clear as much as possible. You definitely could have cleared another 14pts, used the heart, then cleared 15pts, then leveled.... After that, I'm not sure.
The only zero I see is to the right of the 11.
Going down that side, it looks like...
7
2
0
2
6
BTW, you know you can put your own numbers in the blanks to help keep track, right? By right clicking. Also, that 5 Green Slime/Cube is collectable. Which actually put you in an even better position.
And did you get the scroll to destroy the bombs? I saw it mentioned, but I've never gotten it.

Re: Friday Timewaster
This is a fun one I keep coming back to, despite hitting the 303 max score three times now. A big part of the fun is finding out the patterns in the game, and I’m not going to reveal them. When you lose, especially early, and the remaining board is revealed, those patterns are available to get sussed out. I’ll spoil a list of the particular pattern-related items I’ve identified (but not the actual pattern).
Thanks for sharing this one!

I do put a red "X" where I am sure there is a bomb. Then I try to make a path to the corners and find the level 11 guy. It was a winning strategy for my first win. Having all the bombs defused at once is awesome.

Actually, this could have been a perfect score. I just didn't understand how the mimic worked.
