First question, have any other villagers played cards other than Theo and redrun?
If so, what are they? It would be good to know if we can get those "I am Spartacus" cards out of the way.
Let's go over some "facts." I put that in quotes, because as pointed out numerous times, we don't know for sure, but we can at least use them as assumptions.
1. I have the "Told ya so" card. Nobody has swiped it from me yet. Not that I would expect them to at this point.
2. Theo scanned me as villager. Since I am a villager, seems reasonable to me.
3. Redrun scanned Q as villager. Don't know, but seems reasonable to do it and come forward about it.
4. El Guapo has time limit card and is letting the village decide when to use it.
These facts and claims have a small amount of value, everything else is blind speculation. For a day 1, I would prefer to avoid voting for:
Theo, Q, bb, redrun, or El Guapo.
If we are going to vote blindly, why vote for one of these 5 who are presumably actually helping the village or are semi cleared. If we are going to take a shot in the dark, I say we pick from the remaining list until more facts come to light. We have a seer, the seer can scan Theo and RR and verify their claims. Or Theo and RR will be killed in the night, and that will verify their claims. Either way, we should wait. I include El G in this group simply because he could have used the time limit card and screwed the village already. What better day to do it when the village doesn't have a clue what is going on and a rushed decision would almost ensure a miss. Not that day 1's are known for villages being successful anyway.

I also have an idea about the swiper card. If you have it, swipe my "Told ya so" card. We can vote you up to N-1 and you can be proven. Since I am semi-proven at this point, it would probably serve the village better if someone else uses the card.

Makes sense. I suppose that the wolves could take the opportunity to push the person over the edge, but as long as we put down clear ground rules beforehand (so they couldn't claim 'whoops!'), then that should be workable.
Though if the Light Mage has the swiper card, he should not risk this plan.

Uh, yes. You are correct. I would hope if our light mage was in this position he could come to that conclusion on his own, but I guess it is always good to clarify.

i'm uneasy with sharing card information. Most importantly i think it violates the spirit of hte game thing...we arent meant to figureo ut who is who or what powers are what via teh cards....which is the avenue we are going down. We're tyign to use the cards to figure out good and evil. And i am ALWAYS oppposed to a systematic figuring out of a game rather than using our brains. I'm just uneasy that we are starting to use the cards in a way that they werent meant to be used.

I don't get it. How are we doing that? Anyone can lie. I think it is built into the game that we will try to track card usage and I don't think it will break anything. I personally think we should be tracking the usage the day after to avoid swiping, but I'm open to being convinced otherwise.

i'm uneasy with it....i guess i am more afraid of it turning into a few "trusted" people controlling the actions of the rest. They then start coordinating trains and dictating who plays what card with whom. That's where I see this leading up to. I also think it gives us a leg up because it could cause a evil dude to foul up someway because they are going to have to deceive in some way...and that seems off...we arent suppose to be using what cards someone has/has not to divine innocence or not.

I can 100% see tracking card usage in historical sense...so what we know has/has not been played so we know what we can expect to come down the pike. I think I am ok with that.....temporarily...but i still want to think things through. Hmm....even if we do log it cards...we can trip up someone in a lie....so we're pretty much forcing team evil to be 100% honest w/ what cards they have....because at some point the truth will be known.
Yeah still uneasy with it.

How will the truth be known? There cards get recycled each night and there is no way to know if a card has been previously played (you don't learn Use 1 of 2 or whatever). The only way Evil will get caught is if they claim to hold a card someone else has - the same as any game - you spoof a role, you're dead.
And how are we getting to a list of Trusteds directing things? There are cards that make Evil look Good. We are at a serious disadvantage here.

I believe you are mistaken. There are 3 Dark Mages and 1 Light Mage. The only powers in the game are the cards. Nowhere in the rules does it indicate the Light Mage acts as a Seer.

Well, except for his name.
Light Mage Ezkerra (Seer) - 62 years experience.
As a child was sent off to wizardry school at age 6. Became a master at age 16. Self proclaimed champion of 8 Dimensional Chess since he invented it and is the only known mage to be able to travel to the 8th dimension.

Hey, if you're uneasy with it, you're free to not ask or not use the information.
I don't see it as any different from a WW game with powers wherein the villagers use powers to "prove" as many people as possible, so as to narrow the pool where wolves can hide. That's pretty much how the game works. The difference here is that by and large the cards are way more useful in terms of allowing the wolves to hide rather than exposing them, so I don't think card analysis is likely to be a game breaker anyways.

hmm i thouhgt you learned the 1's and 2's of such. I guess just uneasy w/ centralizing information and such. And i am not sure if its gamebreaking or not in our favor...actually i think it is or else i wouldnt be arguing this. I seriously think though that as the trusted gain steam, we'll turn to them for advice and we'll be forced to play the cards at their volition and not ours. Which zaps the fun out of it. We've already got 2 semi trusted....whats not to say they wont go "HEY....FOLLOW MY PLAN OR ELSE". There was a game back a few years (forgot which one) which turned into a few people controlling the masses...which i really, really, really dont want a repeat of. This game seems so promising with each of us getting a card and actually having a role and power to play than being a normal villager.
Just uneasy with it...i think its best to discuss the pro's and cons before going forward and centralizing the information. I am not saying i cant or wont be swayed to share (i do see immense value in knowing what card has been played and what we can anticipate coming ....(its like counting cards in blackjack, which i do- )....but i think its best to look ahead at the fun factor and the possible unintended consequences that might emerge of us centralizing this information.

A couple of things to add.
Newcastle, I asked Lassr in PM if it was ok if we shared card information. He said yes, go ahead and tell. The choice is ours and he already thought about it and made that decision prior to the start of the game.
I also asked about the light mage and if he was our seer per the (Seer) in the write up. The answer was also yes. So we do have a seer.
And if you read my post carefully, I was not asking everyone to dump their card info. They can if they want, but with the potential of the swiper card, I didn't want to make that request. If people want to, fine, if they want to go the Trig route and be vague, that is fine too. You have the ability to play yourself any way you want.
What I was asking about was cards played. Right now we know (or at least think we do) that 2 cards have been played. Both are single use cards, so they are now out of the game. If either of those cards show up again, then somebody is lying. That is useful information. It is also useful to know if all the "I am Spartacus" cards have been used, or if they are still out there. As Q mentioned, either he or I could have used the card. I am pretty safe. I told you all my card and I know nobody is going to step forward and say they have the "Told ya so" card since there is only one, and I have it. I am also hoping for someone to swipe it from me so we can get a proven. I don't there is anything wrong with using the tools we are given.
That being said, I would like to know what card Q has. Since he could have played the "I am Spartacus" card.

I cannot believe I missed this and it is important.
1) The first card I received was I'll Take Seconds.
2) I played that card.
3) The two cards I recieved were a) Free Scan and b) Swipe.
4) I played the Free Scan card and scanned bb2112. He turned up Villager.
5) Since there is only one Swipe card in the game and it was in my hand after I played the I'll Take Seconds card, NO ONE can Swipe cards today.

I'll be happy to share my card, but I've got a question PMed to Lassr first, since theo's last post most likely renders my card unprovable.

In addition to my PM question to Lassr, here's a public one:
Lassr, is there just ONE Swipe card that is reshuffled each day until it has been used three times? Or are there three separate Swipe cards?
It seems it's just one card, but worth clarifying.

To me it seems like there are 31 cards with varying levels of uses and then there are 5x the Day Dreamer card (taking care of the Wolves having to claim a power). But that's just me.

I did not add anything to the rules to prevent sharing card info. I think that may have been a mistake.
Yes, there is a seer although it may not be needed with so many cards.
All things to discuss for the next game, if there is one. I like the concept of giving everyone a chance to do something special but I see flaws now that the game has started.
We could say it is ok to reveal cards for day 1 only but starting day 2 no more reveals before the power is used or the power is lost. PM your thoughts on that, do not discuss here as I know how the dark mages feel.

Swipe is one card with 3 uses.

Card #1 : Extra Vote.
wolf 1 to Mod: player x is at n-1 so I'll use my extra vote card on him now
villager 1: "Hey look, Player X is a villager due to the told ya so card and us putting him at n-1"

Yeah, so? There are risks to everything. In your scenario it would require that one of the three evil guys to have that card at the right time. That will always be a risk to "Told ya so."
