REAL reason for firing:
Anyone who would do that is too stupid to work there.

Are IT guys were compelled/requested to report any porn they find? Do they?

Kinda always wondered about that ever since I came across a folder on a networked drive at work (9 employees at the time) just full of porn videos.

I remember being almost as flabbergasted by the sheer amount of space it took up as I was by the fact that it was there for everybody who clicked on the F: drive to see.

I feel like that was discussed years ago. Maybe in response to hep's story. My vague recollection is that, yes, something like that should be reported. Presumably to management and HR. Of course, in a startup there may be no HR, per se. So that could make things a lot ... stickier........

I was close friends with the consultant who worked near me back in those days. He heard me laughing out loud at one point and wondered over. I showed him the file names as they were transferring and he broke out laughing to, but we didn't tell any other consultants or IT folks. I did report it to one of the partners though as I also wanted to explain to him why I refused to copy a drive from his previous job to his new company's laptop. He heartily agreed with me that the latter was a huge no no, but that he'd give the guy slack on the former as he didn't want to get involved with that just yet. I think even then he knew this guy was a prima donna who wasn't going to work out.

After the incident where he pissed off one of the nicest guys in the office with the aforementioned criticisms 10 minutes after actually meeting him, my boss came to me and asked me to document all the things he did wrong with the IT stuff in case he fought back against being fired for being an ass (unofficial designation, of course). Thankfully he didn't and left without much fuss.

Funny you should say that cause... After work and the interview I had for another job, I was in the restroom at home and decided to do a little gentle prodding, the cyst blew it's top again. Leaving bloody ejaculate all over my hands. This time it totally drained. The job interview went well too. Only issue is that the Sales support only pays 16 an the sales job only pays 15. That's like.50 to 1.50 below what I'm making now, hourly. The interviewer really liked me and really wants me tho.

Dude, get that thing checked out. I had a cyst like lump develop (not near my taint, for the record) that was very painful and slowly draining. Then it popped as you described and I went to the doctor. He told me that it had gotten infected and that if I had waited any longer, I would have had sepsis and had to be hospitalized. So don't mess around with this stuff, it can be deadly.

Woman ends up in ICU from a wedgie - and she didn't have an added "bonus" of infection from a cat's claw...

My 7-11 got closed for COVID. I got a three day weekend. New manager really appreciates me. About half of my co workers are vaccinated and the unvaxxed ones got a paid ten days off. Oh well. Doing inventory and cleanup with mgr. Overtime possibility unlimited. coworker made 1k a week the last four weeks. I always anticipate what the team needs and am usually a few moments ahead. So cool.
