I thought 25 years was the interval between specific weather disaster movies, not 28. Must have been blown back by of the writer's strike.

Love Lies Bleeding. Kristen Stewart, Ed Harris looking like the Crypt Keeper, and Katy O'Brian, who was good in supporting roles in Andor and Quantumania.
You and me both, brother. You and me both. </shudder>

I believe that’s the 37th film in the last year featuring someone who was a badass criminal when they were younger being forced to revisit that life to save a kid/wife/girlfriend/dog/spider monkey/leftover wedge of cheese.
…and god help, I’ll watch them all.

I watched the trailer and I'm intrigued by the movie, but what does that SF space warrior image have to do with it? The movie presents a current-day crisis with current-day tech.

I'm gonna go with clickbait.
Also, realizeing that I'm not up on politics having California and Texas work together does sound like science fiction to me.

Wait. I've not clicked on anything nor do I have any knowledge of this film.
Are you telling me there is a current-day Civil War movie that has Texas and California on the same side?

Before dismissing it entirely, be aware that it also features President Nick Offerman.
I assume that there's some in-universe explanation for a CA/TX alliance. Maybe it's more that they both want to secede, but for different reasons, and their working together is merely about securing that right?

If you click because of "Dave Bautista" he shows up at the 2:08 mark.

Loved the book before it was a musical I thought the author did an amazing job expanding on the lore, and I was always hoping for a movie version, and then the musical came out and became more popular than the book it was based on, so of course they're making a movie based on the musical.

My sister has been a WoOz fan since a teenager, and I recall that she didn’t care for the book.

I agree with your sister.
I didn't really care for the book, it had elements (see: the musical). Full credit/props to the book for the lore.
The musical was a good story and music, and a remarkable stage.
