Anti0-TNF is me (Remicaid). I wonder if I should make an inquiry. Of course, it didn't seem to matter when I was seeking the first dose. They told me to pound salt, even as I was age eligible, until I finally got on a list because no one wanted to go to an under-served neighborhood on Easter weekend. Should I seek the same med or mixing allowed now?

You should make an inquiry.

Should try for the same brand, but can mix mRNA if needed.

CVS says I can sign up. I will have to investigate.

Edit:

I am now scheduled for next Friday. Thanx RW for keeping me informed. :D I kinda gave up once I finally got through and vaccinated for Easter.

Boosters to roll out to all Americans beginning next month, indexed by time from vaccination and level of risk, breaking @washingtonpost

Here's the AP article covering boosters:
For months, officials had said data still indicated that people remain highly protected from COVID-19, including the delta variant, after receiving the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna regimen or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. But U.S. health officials made clear Sunday they are preparing for the possibility that the time for boosters may come sooner than later.

“There is a concern that the vaccine may start to wane in its effectiveness,” Collins said. “And delta is a nasty one for us to try to deal with. The combination of those two means we may need boosters, maybe beginning first with health care providers, as well as people in nursing homes, and then gradually moving forward” with others, such as older Americans who were among the first to get vaccinations.

He said because the delta variant only started hitting the U.S. hard in July, the “next couple of weeks” of case data will help the U.S. make a decision.

Officials were continuing to collect information as well about the J&J vaccine, which was only approved in the U.S. in late February, to determine when to recommend boosters, one of the officials said.

Our county just approved a mask mandate for all public indoor locations effective August 20th. Our hospital just hit the highest number of COVID patients since the start of the pandemic. :x :(

Given the numbers in the county and site, I suspect it will be a real test.

At the risk of sounding grim, it would make for an excellent observational study. It combines COVID with emergency preparedness and I'm guessing any number of academics would like to write it up should something happen. Hopefully it's a non-issue.

We require face coverings, which includes the option for gators. They also handed out "high performance face coverings" which are N95s in all but the official stamp. I am clean shaven and know how to use it, so that made me feel better. Only about 2-3 minutes in the space before I got it.

Great. You mucked up the experiment.

Impressed they they provided the N95s though. Nice move.

I donrt agree with the sentiment of this joke, but I did get a litle chuckle from it:

ABBOTT AND COSTELLO’S ‘WHO’S ON FIRST’ ……updated version.😂😂
Bud: ‘You can’t come in here!’
Lou: ‘Why not?’
Bud: ‘Well because you’re unvaccinated.’
Lou: ‘But I’m not sick.’
Bud: ‘It doesn’t matter.’
Lou: ‘Well, why does that guy get to go in?’
Bud: ‘Because he’s vaccinated.’
Lou: ‘But he’s sick!’
Bud: ‘It’s alright. Everyone in here is vaccinated.’
Lou: ‘Wait a minute. Are you saying everyone in there is vaccinated?’
Bud: ‘Yes.’
Lou: ‘So then why can’t I go in there if everyone is vaccinated?’
Bud: ‘Because you’ll make them sick.’
Lou: ‘How will I make them sick if I’m NOT sick and they’re vaccinated.’
Bud: ‘Because you’re unvaccinated.’
Lou: ‘But they’re vaccinated.’
Bud: ‘But they can still get sick.’
Lou: ‘So what the heck does the vaccine do?’
Bud: ‘It vaccinates.’
Lou: ‘So vaccinated people can’t spread covid?’
Bud: ‘Oh no. They can spread covid just as easily as an unvaccinated person.’
Lou: ‘I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore. Look. I’m not sick.
Bud: ‘Ok.’
Lou: ‘And the guy you let in IS sick.’
Bud: ‘That’s right.’
Lou: ‘And everybody in there can still get sick even though they’re vaccinated.’
Bud: ‘Certainly.’
Lou: ‘So why can’t I go in again?’
Bud: ‘Because you’re unvaccinated.’
Lou: ‘I’m not asking who’s vaccinated or not!’
Bud: ‘I’m just telling you how it is.’
Lou: ‘Nevermind. I’ll just put on my mask.’
Bud: ‘That’s fine.’
Lou: ‘Now I can go in?’
Bud: ‘Absolutely not?’
Lou: ‘But I have a mask!’
Bud: ‘Doesn’t matter.’
Lou: ‘I was able to come in here yesterday with a mask.’
Bud: ‘I know.’
Lou: So why can’t I come in here today with a mask? ….If you say ‘because I’m unvaccinated’ again, I’ll break your arm.’
Bud: ‘Take it easy buddy.’
Lou: ‘So the mask is no good anymore.’
Bud: ‘No, it’s still good.’
Lou: ‘But I can’t come in?’
Bud: ‘Correct.’
Lou: ‘Why not?’
Bud: ‘Because you’re unvaccinated.’
Lou: ‘But the mask prevents the germs from getting out.’
Bud: ‘Yes, but people can still catch your germs.’
Lou: ‘But they’re all vaccinated.’
Bud: ‘Yes, but they can still get sick.’
Lou: ‘But I’m not sick!!’
Bud: ‘You can still get them sick.’
Lou: ‘So then masks don’t work!’
Bud: ‘Masks work quite well.’
Lou: ‘So how in the heck can I get vaccinated people sick if I’m not sick and masks work?’
Bud: ‘Third base.’

It kinda falls flat , as ‘the sick but vaccinated’ guy actually wouldn’t be allowed in, and that is the entire premise of the joke.

I do agree with sentiment of the joke. It's all very kafkaesque. And yet it's not wrong.

Vaccines are showing themselves to work
Masks are showing themselves to work

Masked people are still getting sick and spreading the virus
Vaccinated people people are still getting sick and spreading the virus

Not doing either seems to be getting you hospitalized 95 times more and killed 99 times more often than it is getting the masked vaccinated.

I have people in my life I care about whom aren't vaccinated. I don't want to be fine and fuck them up.
Unagi wrote: Wed Aug 18, 2021 1:23 pm It kinda falls flat , as ‘the sick but vaccinated’ guy actually wouldn’t be allowed in, and that is the entire premise of the joke.
Unless guidelines have changed, they are. If you are vaccinated in the places of work that I am around, symptoms of COVID should be reported and recorded but they no longer prohibit you from entering a facility. Though I've not yet seen any places that prohibit non vaccinated. They're all still at "non vaccinated must wear masks". I am seeing more and more vaccine required statements through reporting at CNBC, though.

If you are symptomatic, you are not allowed near our facility, regardless of vaccination status.

Most places with a “you can’t come in here if” policy (like a school) seem to have a ‘symptoms’ check or temperature taker at the door where you will be turned away even if you are vaccinated. In my experience...

I’m sure various workplaces are different...

“Reported and recorded....” sounds like a total joke, if you ask me.

Most places I go to into in the professional setting (aka not grocery shopping) have me fill out a form and take my temp to enter. When it's all said and done, the rule for entry I must follow are those related to being vaccinated at the end of saying I haven't had symptoms, I go in to the "I've been vaccinated" category and reporting didn't really matter. For a while, most didn't require me to mask. They do again. It didn't matter though. I masked anyway. The only time I don't mask in the company of others is when gaming.

It will likely be an annual shot like the flu shot.

Longer term, it's likely that we'll eventually get one annual jab for flu & COVID combined, it seems.

My Trumpster in laws have refused to get the vaccine. Surprise Surprise.

I get a text earlier today to ask what dose of Ivermectin they should get to take. My response was, "It's too bad there isn't another option and you guys feel the only option to protect yourselves is a drug shown not only that it doesn't work, but can be dangerous."

I was initially prescribed it when I was diagnosed in Texas. When I got back home and went to the hospital, the medical staff was pretty angry when I told them I had been taking it.

So my in laws responded to my text and said, "But how do we know what dose to get?"

Can't make this crap up.

Calmly explain to them that if they don't trust expert medical advice (get the vaccine), they shouldn't ask for expert medical advice.

Novavax is already testing a combination seasonal flu/COVID-19 vaccine, and I'm confident they aren't alone in that. To me, if SARS-CoV-2 is here to stay and is going to be spawning new variants as quickly as it currently does, an annual vaccine tuned for whatever variant(s) are in vogue for the year seems like a nobrainer.

See, now THIS is a better skit:

Bud: ‘How much Ivermectin should I take?'
Lou: ‘What for?’
Bud: ‘Well because I heard it makes you better when you get COIVD'
Lou: ‘Isn't it better to NOT get COVID?’
Bud: ‘How do I do that?'
Lou: ‘Get the vaccine.'
Bud: ‘I don't trust the vaccine.'
Lou: ‘But you trust me to tell you the dose for Ivermectin?'
Bud: ‘Exactly!'
Lou: ‘Why is that?'
Bud: ‘Because I trust you as a medical professional.'
Lou: ‘So then why won't you take the vaccine?'
Bud: ‘I don't trust the vaccine.'
Lou: ‘But you trust me as a medical professional.'
Bud: ‘Yes.'
Lou: ‘So in this medical professional's opinion you should get the vaccine.'
Bud: ‘I don't trust the vaccine.'
Together: 'Exactly!'

Our November peak was around 75 IP with 20 in critical care. We're currently at 12/4. We're down from a 2 month high on Aug 8. Daily COVID census is crossing below the 7 day MA.
