I'm thinking there is a My Pillow product opportunity here...
Ha! LOL I've been thinking once Dr. Jill has her golden parachute all sewn up she'll be ordering a My Pillow to smother Sleepy Joe with, then it's a funeral to eclipse John McCain's royal event and a lawsuit against the My Pillow guy. Two birds one "fluffy" stone.
Why have you been thinking that?
Probably because there seems to be so much hate for the My Pillow dude.

Hate? The guy has provided so much comic relief for the world, I’m surprised he hasn’t been made one of Trump’s staff. No one hates him. That would be like hating Shemp Howard.
Kimberly "Cheat"le for VP. Might as well have somebody else who didn't do her job too. The border czar and the head of secret service. I remember when I wished our gov't to be so deadlocked that they would just do no harm. Now they don't even need to be deadlocked to do nothing good.
I don’t know what you just said and I don’t think you do either.
There is an independent review that needs to occur. And it needs to review other events the secret service have protected to determine if these gaping holes are commonplace.
It needs to assess the culture of the organisation and if it is properly funded to defend from the nutters who got past to beat Paul Pelosi and nearly kill president trump. Possibly some of its responsibilities like stopping counterfeiting needs to go to another agency.
It’s not just that this guy could shoot at trump with an easy shot. It’s that he can openly use a range finder in front of security and nobody seems to care or notice. It’s just comical.
I don’t think individual agents are to blame. There are either not enough of them or the planning is bad.
I think the results of the review should determine if the director keeps their job.

God bless your heart, you really are determined to make this work, aren't you. I feel like we should just nod and at least look your way at some point to make you feel SOME kind of validation.
apnews.com wrote:WASHINGTON (AP) — The director of the Secret Service said Tuesday she is resigning following the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump that unleashed intensifying outcry about how the agency tasked with protecting current and former presidents could fail in its core mission.
Kimberly Cheatle, who had served as Secret Service director since August 2022, had been facing growing calls to resign and several investigations into how the shooter was able to get so close to the Republican presidential nominee at an outdoor campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
“I take full responsibility for the security lapse,” she said in an email to staff, obtained by The Associated Press. “In light of recent events, it is with a heavy heart that I have made the difficult decision to step down as your director.”
Cheatle’s departure was unlikely to end the scrutiny of the long-troubled agency after the failures of July 13, and it comes at a critical juncture ahead of the Democratic National Convention and a busy presidential campaign season. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have promised continued investigation, along with an inspector general probe and an independent and bipartisan effort launched at President Joe Biden’s behest that will keep the agency in the spotlight.
“The scrutiny over the last week has been intense and will continue to remain as our operational tempo increases,” Cheatle said in her note to staff.
Cheatle’s resignation comes a day after appeared before a congressional committee and was berated by hours by both Democrats and Republicans for the security failures. She called the attempt on Trump’s life the Secret Service’s “most significant operational failure” in decades and said she took full responsibility for the security lapses, but she angered lawmakers by failing to answer specific questions about the investigation.
At the hearing Monday, Cheatle remained defiant that she was the “right person” to lead the Secret Service, even as she said she took responsibility the security failures. When Republican Rep. Nancy Mace suggested Cheatle begin drafting her resignation letter from the hearing room, Cheatle responded, “No, thank you.”

Cool, now she can be "The Border Czar's" VP choice.
I did just watch "Field of Dreams", wish I could play some catch with my dad still. He told me he was going to throw me a curve ball once, it hit me in the gut, and knocked the wind right out of me. Last time I played catch with my dad, I was in 8th grade. 1979 was the only year I ever managed to have even a little tiny bit of athletic ability.

Someone needs to tell the Us media that too even msnbc thinks it’s only republicans who wanted her out.
Mmm yes you are right - but I was relying on YouTube not the web for that observation
My you tube feed is feeding me lies as usual it seems. And it still lies- republicans going after… republicans angry.. liberal tears as … etc
Meta and X have come out as tech bros for Trump but seems google is also on board the maga train given how much Fox News, Jordan Peterson and worse it seems to want to force me to watch.
It’s odd that most tech workers I know were hardcore trump fans but their companies weren’t at least not openly. But that seems to be changing.
Secret Service doesn't want President Trump holding any more open air rallies. I imagine it's not too cool having all those folks out there with their phones catching everything on camera, and trying to bring your attention to something you aren't supposed to be seeing. Much better to be held someplace like a "theatre", yeah theatres work so much better for republicans, nice and dark.
There are plenty of closeable roof arenas that can hold tens of thousands. It’s not cheap but it’s safer.
Perhaps given today’s political situation the government needs to subsidize such bookings using the secret service budget.
When I was in Nz I saw an eight year old shoot a mountain goat through the heart off a hill from over 1200 yards in high winds. He couldn’t have done that with your grandfathers ww2 Springfield. Modern weapons are so much lighter and more accurate. That kid was ten times the distance of the trump shooter.
NZ has tougher gun laws than in the Us. But if you can kill a mountain goat you can kill a man with what you get there off the shelf. That means you can get too.
Nevertheless your point on Lincoln also proves that pretty much every assassin or would be assassin of a Us president or candidate was performed by lone assassins or small groups with a grudge not a mass conspiracy by the some shadowy cabal.
I think ex-presidents should get a (hefty and quite reasonable) SS budget, and they themselves can see fit how to use it.
Becase, I don't want Trump holding massive rallies the rest of his life and demanding massive SS funds to make it safe, as he stokes the fires of rage.
