Been a long time since a cool underwater movie. Was the early 90s when Deepstar Six, Leviathan, and The Abyss hit. I don't much care for the actress though. And they will probably nuke it in the end.

I've seen The Last Full Measure and it was an amazing movie with an amazing cast.

2019 movie failures. Weird that some of them are failures with over $150 million in profits.
films by one of the six major Hollywood studios (i.e. Warners, Disney, Fox, Paramount, Sony and Universal) which have a wide release (i.e. in at least 1,000 cinemas) versus all other films.

Liberation
This one is set in the Chinese Civil War. Presumably the Nationalists (now Taiwan) are the bad guys.
We've reached the point where totalitarian nations can compete with blockbusters. (Although I guess we saw this in the earliest days of cinema as well.)

The Murder of Nichol Brown Simpson
Wow. And this one apparently tries to exonerate O.J.

I gather that Quiet Place II is a prequel. Makes sense, given the way the first one ended.
Looks like flashbacks, since they no longer have to worry about spoilers, followed by a sequel when they're forced to move on from the farmstead.
That makes sense. I'll end up renting this one eventually; the first one wasn't bad. Not theater-worthy, though. Can you imagine watching a movie about silence amidst a group of coughing popcorn eaters? Last time we went to the theater, some yahoo in the back row actually took a phone call.

Fantasy Island is now...a horror movie?
Weird flex, but ok.

I can't even understand how that came to be. A Fantasy Island movie, fine OK. But Horror? What kind of crazy left turn is that?
Btw, I have a minor request. Can we please put videos in spoiler tags if there are a lot of them? Everytime I come to this thread or similar video threads, it takes forever to load, both in viewing and replying and it takes a minute or two before I'm able to type properly without lag.

Didn't the show sometimes at least raise the possibility of dark or tragic consequences? There was kind of a "Monkey's Paw" element to it.

Spoiler tags don't prevent the content from loading, but I will take this as permission to post-pad.
In some cases, people were killed due to their own negligence, aggression or arrogance.
...
Often the fantasies would turn out to be morality lessons for the guests, sometimes to the point of (apparently) putting their lives at risk, only to have Roarke step in at the last minute and reveal the deception. For example, one episode featured a couple who clamored for the "good old days" being taken back to the Salem witch trials.

I don't really remember the show at all, but have always been under the impression that it was typical late 70's/early 80's cheesy schlock. Which makes the tie in to a horror movie all that much stranger.
The actual premise of the film (the ability to live out fantasies, but they have unintended or disastrous results) could possibly be an intriguing one, but connecting it to the show just makes no damn sense.

The original Fantasy Island was a horror show because this could happen at any time.

Do they? I had assumed that they don't load until revealed. Threads like these with many videos get bogged down with everything trying to load at once.
