I’ll admit that it’s a catchy tune. Now some people may find it horrifying to celebrate the death of people with a light tune, but you could avoid that by not invading your neighbor and trying to bomb the populace into submission. And I do love the vivid descriptiveness of the Ukrainian language. Bayraktar…

Good God...the comment section in that article is terrifying. I've always heard of Russian bots spreading misinformation, but jeez...that's the first time I have ever witnessed it firsthand.

It's American Spectator - this is unfortunately the norm in the "conservative" space. In fact, I would guess these mostly very well could be actual Americans who bought Russian misinformation hook, line, and sinker and are just repeating it.

If anyone doesn't think it's possible, I'd recommend just watching one or two of Tucker's shows. Just do it to see what its about. The clips don't do it justice. It is awash in lying, Russian sourced misinformation, crank "experts", and frankly it's dangerous. Pretty much every sane sponsor has dropped him for a reason and Fox essentially uses him as a loss leader at this point.

For Russia? They've been fighting constant actions over the last 30 years. Chechnya. Georgia. Syria. Crimea. Ukraine. Etc. That guy in particular has been behind the "insurgency" in Eastern Ukraine for years.

Operational Attrition of the Russian Army truck fleet. If true, then Russia really will have lost this war due to bad logistics. Late April - Mid May may turn out to be very interesting.

6 Things NATO Can Do to Help Ukraine Right Now

The tldr version:

1. Train Ukrainian volunteers to use man-portable systems.
2. Facilitate civilian cyber activities.
3. Provide unmanned combat air vehicles.
4. Provide replacement fighter aircraft.
5. Recruit volunteer pilots and ground crews.
6. Support the continuity of government.

+1. It isn't like the Russians are smashing the cities accidentally. They are evil, brutal realists using whatever works to grind out consessions. And pretty much the only thing working is killing the innocent. With the recent reports of them forcibly relocating Ukrainian citizens as potential hostages this whole thing takes on a new grim element.

Probably very little actual kompromat or direct dealings with Russian operatives (Trump himself is a different matter). But who really knows.

However, things we know:
MTG and Tucker are attention whores.
The patriarchal, white, strongman, nationalist figure appeals to both of them (unless Tucker is COMPLETELY just playing a role on his show, which would not surprise me at all).

They all but say "I WISH WE HAD AN AUTOCRACY HERE RATHER THAN THE MESS WE HAVE"
Putin lines up with their politicians greed. Look no further than the fact that the Russians only sanctioned democrats as response.

If they start murdering civilians face-to-face (as opposed to via long-range fires), the world will torch the remainder of Russia's economy. They can't even count on China for a lifeline at that point, as there's too much for China to lose by not joining in.

FWIW, the Russians have issued statements like this in every one of their post-1991 wars. It's just that normally the rest of the world isn't looking in.

Is there anything that we can do to counter this short of engaging Russia militarily? Sanctions (public and private) can be stepped up (apparently LG announced that they won't sell into Russia anymore). We can provide more military equipment. But if Russia remains determined to keep this up...what can we do? Anything that we can provide Ukraine that would help them better target artillery / missile launchers?
