My wife and I went birding in the meadowlands today and were surprised to notice that the Stones were playing at the stadium tonight. There were some early tailgaters there when we drove by.

My Metal soundtrack usually consists of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, the first five Metallica albums and (recently) Primal Fear. A friend is trying to broaden my horizons and Megadeth have been fun to explore.

Hoo boy, that one brings back ALL the high school memories. Megadeth is a “small doses” band for me, mostly because I find Mustaine’s voice either silly or annoying.

The new Cognitive album “Abhorrence” has been my running soundtrack for the past week. It’s pretty by-the-numbers death metal, but man them riffs are chonky.

Still kicking myself for not going to see them in 2014 - their first show in their reunion tour was in Portland I just didn't go for some reason.

OK, this album is absolutely breaking my brain. Folk, disco, funk, reggae, and other genre remixes of Skinny Puppy songs.

They're all really well done, but I simply cannot process it. "Dig It" as 50's doo-wop...I just can't. That cover of "Candle" has me...

Ew, never mind all this. Came out today that this album was created primarily with AI. They just fed it SP lyrics and told it to create songs with specific styles. Fuck all that.

On a more positive note, the new Hellbutcher album is an absolute blast. Very reminiscent of 80’s thrash, leaning into the Exodus or Overkill vibe but with amazing guitar work. Just a stupid fun album all around.

The “P” in the song refers to Paulina Porizkova, the wife of The Cars guitarist Ric Ocasek, who produced the first Weezer album. Paulina made a claim that no one had ever written a song about her, so Sharp took on the task.
