There's a certain irony in the fact that pre-Super Tuesday, Bernie was demanding that whoever had a plurality of the delegates going into the convention should be the nominee

Ya we might have Bernie and his supporters to thank for 8 years of Trump. If they sit out the election because Bernie isn't in we're in a world of hurt.
USA Today say, he's not bringing the youth vote everyone says he's bringing
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/pol ... 4947795002
Exit polls for five southern states that Biden won – Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia – found that young voters did not show up at the polls in the numbers they did in 2016.
In addition, the Vermont senator has been grabbing a smaller share of them in most cases.
In Alabama, only 7% of the voters were in the 17-29 range compared to 14% in 2016. Sanders won six of every 10 of those voters Tuesday compared to four of 10 in 2016.
In North Carolina, 13% of Tuesday’s electorate were young voters, compared to 16% four years ago. Of those, 57% went for Sanders in 2020 compared to 69% in 2016.
In South Carolina, young voters made up 11% of the electorate Tuesday compared to 15% in 2016. Sanders won 43% of those voters Tuesday compared to 54% four years ago.
In Tennessee, 11% of those voters showed up Tuesday versus 15% in 2016. Sanders did better among that group Tuesday winning 65% compared to 61% four years ago.
In Virginia, young voters comprised 13% of Tuesday’s vote compared to 16% in 2016. Sanders won 57% of those voters Tuesday compared to 69% four years ago.
Even Sanders’ home state of Vermont showed a lackluster turnout of young millennials and 'Gen Zers.' Only 10% of the state’s electorate were under 30 compared to 15% when he ran against Clinton, according to exit polls.
And a similar trend was playing out in Texas where 16% of voters were between 17 and 29 compared to 20% in 2016.
The common theme in all six states: Sanders fared worse this year than he did when he faced eventual nominee Hillary Clinton four years ago.

Bernie Twitter is lashing out like mad today. They’re committed to hating the “Democratic Establishment” (that is, everyone who didn’t vote Bernie) as much or more than hating Trump.
I continue to hope that what I see on social media is only an aberrant subset.

And if Bernie is not denouncing them it doesn't matter if they are bots or trolls. This is where I began to part ways with Sanders on the verge of losing to Clinton. Where I finally started to feel that enlightenment others saw before me. I don't mind that he doesn't know when he's beat. I mind that as we are steered further and further into an abyss, what he's willing to lose in his refusal to accept the direction of the very establishment he's trying to win over. The problem isn't that he's not a team player. It's that he's so focused on being Bernie player that you know damned well he'll be a worse than average bad president. As a former supporter, that makes particularly sad.

It's (not so) funny that when I follow the link, Twitter decides to put "more tweets" and alternates between current Obama and Trump tweets. Wow, that juxtaposition looks like political design by Twitter and really does illustrate the stark differences in what we beg for in a leader.

I don't what she'll do, but what's interesting is that her support is almost 50-50 (maaaybe 60-40) going to both Sanders and Biden.
My hope is that, even without a viable path forward, Warren should stay in through the March 15 debate. Her voice is important, and she'll be in a unique position to hold both Biden and Bernie accountable to reality even if she bows out in her final statement.

I'm still kinda stunned she's not getting more votes in these states. Of the 3 (Biden/Warren/Sanders) I think she's the best choice for numerous reasons, quite frankly. When women finally take over (and don't delude yourselves, it's going to happen), I feel like there's going to be a reckoning that even the most dystopian sci-fi writers couldn't have imagined.

We've all accepted the story that it's a two-way race now, even though 2/3 of the delegates are still up for grabs. With another great debate performance...who knows? I would love to see her take them both on with no distractions.

I think Warren's not in an enviable position. My take is that her best choices if she decides to drop out is to either not endorse anyone or endorse Sanders, but with some conditions, something along the lines of him taking concrete steps to broaden his base (something he would have to do anyway) and that if it's clear he won't be able to get the numbers to win, that he end his campaign rather than drag it out, and rally around the nominee.

Well, it's simple math at this point. She'd have to take 50% of the vote from here on out to even get 1/3 of the total votes. How likely is that, given her current performance so far, and she couldn't even win her home state? It's not like she's being written off for no good reason.

Cheerfully conceded. She's not going to zoom into the lead. She could still have a seat at the convention, but that's a stretch, too. Warren is a very smart woman; if she doesn't drop out, she has a reason, and if there's no reason to keep going, she won't. I sure do want to see her in one more debate, though.

Anyway, I'm reasonably satisfied with where we are in terms of the Democratic primary. We have a centrist / moderate and a progressive / left-wing standard-bearer left. They're close enough in delegates that either has a shot at victory. So, they'll have some time to debate and duke it out, and we'll see who puts together the stronger case.

Hopefully this doesn't get lost in the Super Tuesday Insanity
Democrats just flipped a state house seat in Maine by 15 points tonight that Trump previously carried by 8 points. Terrible news for Susan Collins.
I honestly hope Mainers don't give her any slack. She's earned none. She's voted against this state time and again in order to side with her party, and I think the people here who vote pay attention to that. I know I plan to.

First of all, wouldn't "triple BBB" be "BBBBBBBBB"? Or "BBB BBB BBB"?
Second, that's not how acronyms work. You're saying that he's the "triple BBWMB" candidate.
Third, STFU. Another example of how acronyms are supposed to work.

If you say it by pronouncing the individual letters (e.g. FBI), it's an initialism. If you say it as a word (e.g. NATO), then it's an acronym.
This message was brought to you by the letters OCD.
