The streaming giant said in its third-quarter earnings report that its premium ad-free plan in the United States will increase by $3 per month, to $22.99, starting Wednesday. Its one-stream basic plan will rise to $11.99 in the United States. All other plans, including its entry-level, $6.99-a-month ad-supported tier, will remain at the same monthly cost.
Netflix also announced price increases for some subscription tiers in the United Kingdom and France.

Probably better to post it here, because it happens so much we need a dedicated thread.

Very interesting but hopefully the series can conclude without being cancelled by Netflix.

I’m only one episode in, but I like it so far. I thought it was just a one and done thing, though? Just one season to wrap up the mystery?

I didn't know that. Good news to me. I watched two episodes. Had to force myself to stop so I can sleep.

I looked up some info but obviously I don’t want to spoil anything for myself. It’s called a “limited series” which seems like a one and done. I was also surprised to find out it’s based on a Vertigo (DC) graphic novel.

Bodies writer Paul Tomalin himself has already ruled out the show returning for a season 2

It's happened before that their "limited series" have been renewed though. But I generally agree, as thought it was just their term for mini-series. But stranger things have happened.

It's impossible to overstate just how incredible BoB was and still is today. I really should watch it again sometime.
Such a great show - it gave me shivers in the first Company of Heroes when I got to the Carentan mission.

If Stranger Things had been originally meant to be a limited series, that would have been such a marvelous pun.

Has anyone else watched Brand New Cherry Flavor?
A female filmmaker heads to Hollywood in the early '90s to make her movie but tumbles down a hallucinatory rabbit hole of sex, magic, revenge — and kittens.
It's horror with a sense of humor. I especially like the two thugs who initially work for Lisa and then Lou.

It was very early on. It was pitched as a limited series to Netflix.

I enjoyed it. It definitely had an "American Horror Story" feel to it...at least when AH used to be entertaining...which it hasn't been in a long while.

I read a review of a movie called "Old Dads" that was billed as a raunchy comedy about Gen X'ers trying to navigate the politically correct world of millennials. The reviewer said it was stirring up controversy over whether it was funny or just offensive. Wife's out of town and it's a short movie, so I took the plunge last night.
As a boomer and a child-free man I'm not the target audience on two levels. I guess Bill Burr is a famous comic, but I'd never heard of him, so make that three levels. I found it heavy-handed and intentionally offensive, and not funny at all. I think I snort-laughed twice. I did stick it out through the end, although I was tempted to bail early.
Curious whether any of you parental Gen X types have seen it, and what you thought.

I watched it and thought it was OK. It's basically a movie version of a Bill Burr stand-up routine on snowflakes. I think his jokes are better on a stage than a screen.
There are also some uncomfortably sad moments that seem out of place.
2.5 stars

I'm a big Bill Burr fan, but that flick was too watered down. They went for kumbaya instead of letting him cut loose. It's the age in which we live.

I have watched the first 5 episodes of Blue Eye Samurai and it is amazing. The animation is fantastic, the action is incredible and the story is beautiful, poetic, and tragic. It's about a blue eyed samurai during the period in Japan where they were completely closed off from the world. I won't say more than that other than it is completely worth your time.

The reviews for Blue Eye Samurai are strong, and one of the writers also helped write the screenplay for the fantastic Bladerunner 2049 that came out a few years ago, so I've added it to my watch list.
I also added a Netflix anime production called Pluto after reading a review that mentioned it's based on Astro Boy. Specifically a story arc from an old Astro Boy manga. I'm one episode in and it's enjoyable so far.
