Vance conveniently left the Corps 4 years before the Irag war ended. Did he abandon his unit?

He has a drink driving conviction in Nebraska !! The democrats are trying to put someone with a criminal conviction one heartbeat away from the White House!!!! Omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To quote Jesse Waters how can we have such a far left communist conspiracy that divides this country so much we risk having an honest down to earth individual who learns from his mistakes and who not only drives a 2014 ford but can change its headlights when they burn out anywhere near the levers of power in this country. The tech bros and oligarchs can’t relate to someone like this!

Re: Who will be Kamala's VP?
Oooh, good to know, thanks for mentioning that (although irrelevant now). That's a personal pet peeve of mine, and I have had a few testy back and forths with Tim Scott (the person who answers his email at least) about that very issue.Holman wrote: Wed Aug 07, 2024 6:44 pmI'm a Pennsylvanian, and I'm very glad it's not Shapiro.Kurth wrote: Wed Aug 07, 2024 12:55 am This piece from CNN on the VP vetting process pretty much confirms Harris picked Walz because (1) he’s not ambitious, doesn’t plan to run for President, and won’t outshine her in the same way Shapiro might have; and (2) Shapiro was seen as a liability because of attacks from the left regarding Gaza.
I get it. But I feel like having Shapiro on the ticket might have been a smarter long-term move to the extent - if the players could put their egos aside - it might have paved the way for an exciting future for the Dems.
But, on the other hand, we’re not really in long-term planning mode right now, are we? There’s one prime directive and it’s paramount: Beat Trump and the MAGAts. If Walz offers the best chance of that, sign me up.
He's popular, but he has also played political games that have led him to (e.g.) support charter schools in a state where the legislature has boosted charters as a way to wreck public education. These are the sorts of things that turn Dems against Dems, and Harris was wise to sidestep it.

Tim Walz shows the Democrats want to govern American as a whole but Maga want to govern the USA as a hole.

Laura Ingram knows Minnesota

https://www.mediamatters.org/fox-news/l ... ts-changedLAURA INGRAHAM (HOST): If you know Minnesota, and I know it well, especially Milwaukee, it's changed. It's never recovered from 2020. It's not the same place. And Tim Walz was empathizing with all the DEI initiatives that were swirling about the controversies.

These people really are under the delusion that we are living in some apocalyptic hellscape. I really hope the Harris campaign continues to push back against that nonsense.

I doubt it. If the private conversations between Fox news hosts, vs what they said on air are any indication, I think it's safe to assume they don't believe it, or at least should cast a doubt on their belief. They are selling a message via fear and anger, period, full stop.YellowKing wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2024 1:36 pm These people really are under the delusion that we are living in some apocalyptic hellscape.

New Polls Show Walz’s Approval Rating Surging While Vance’s Circles the Drain
I've seen some polls putting Vance's favorability as low as -15.A YouGov survey from August 8, two days after Walz was announced as Kamala Harris’s running mate, shows the governor scoring a net favorability rating of +11, up 10 points from a YouGov survey conducted last month. Meanwhile, Vance’s net favorability from an August poll conducted by Marist came in at -9; a week prior, a YouGov survey put him at -6.

Vance is deeply unlikeable. Trump’s people should have gone with “charismatic and competent” rather than “suck ass”.
But in the end, I got to read the headline “No, JD Vance did not have sex with a couch” on a national news site. So I’m good.

We're fortunate that Trump doesn't have a lick of sense and ALWAYS makes the most impulsive, self-destructive short-term decision possible.

I think if he shaved that pathetic, "I want to be Don, Jr" beard, it would help. He looks very much like a slimy televangelist to me. And I am sure that look appeals to a LOT of their base, but damn, for anyone else I think it's an instant turnoff.hepcat wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2024 11:07 pm Vance is deeply unlikeable. If you do things like execute your puppy in a gravel pit or drink diet Mountain Dew you can’t disparage a man’s military record.

I confess I like Diet Mountain Dew. Yes, I'm aware it's completely disgusting. No, I can't explain why I still like it. I've pretty much given up all sodas, but I still grab a large Diet Dew every time I go to Taco Bell.

That is also not true. The law requires school districts to come up with a plan to make hygiene products available in restrooms used by menstruating students in grades 4 through 12. The law doesn't even mention gender (at least I couldn't find a reference to gender).Skinypupy wrote: Wed Aug 07, 2024 12:42 pmFrom what I can tell, their primary issue seems to be that he made them available in both boys and gender-neutral bathrooms as well.Unagi wrote: Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:36 am I mean, is there some element out there that genuinely is upset that girls had access to tampons in school? Because there's never a scenario where a boy might need to grab supplies for their girlfriend and trans people don't actually exist, I guess.

i'll go a step further and say i reallllly wish they'd bring Diet Caffeine-Free Mt. Dew back. (in Canada, adding caffeine to soda was illegal for the longest time and so hopping the border was the way to acquire this)YellowKing wrote: Sun Aug 11, 2024 9:36 am I confess I like Diet Mountain Dew. I love Mountain Dew so I don't want its good name besmirched just because deplorables drink it too
(wasn't it created in Appalachia to compete for moonshine dollars?)
Not a fan of diet Mtn Dew though. I'll avoid it unless it's the only flavor available.

I remember as a youngster going to Dogpatch USA in Arkansas with my family and whenever we'd get a Yahoo Mountain Dew out of the vending machine, my Grandad would take it and add some to his flask behind Grandmas back. He would alwways look at me, smile, and give me the "shush" gesture. When I got older, he'd even give me a sip or 2. Made Hairless Joe's Kickapoo Barrel so much more twisty.....
