note: stirges with RED attacks listed above are Attached to Targets
A stirge attacks by landing on a victim, finding a vulnerable spot, and plunging its proboscis into the flesh. This is a touch attack and can target only Small or larger creatures.

Attach (Ex)
If a stirge hits with a touch attack, it uses its eight pincers to latch onto the opponent’s body. An attached stirge is effectively grappling its prey. The stirge loses its Dexterity bonus to AC and has an AC of 12, but holds on with great tenacity. Stirges have a +12 racial bonus on grapple checks (already figured into the Base Attack/Grapple entry above).

An attached stirge can be struck with a weapon or grappled itself. To remove an attached stirge through grappling, the opponent must achieve a pin against the stirge.

Blood Drain (Ex)
A stirge drains blood, dealing 1d4 points of Constitution damage in any round when it begins its turn attached to a victim. Once it has dealt 4 points of Constitution damage, it detaches and flies off to digest the meal. If its victim dies before the stirge’s appetite has been sated, the stirge detaches and seeks a new target.

I have the lowest initiative so I'll just wait until it is my turn to cast my healing spell. Have I mentioned that that is what I want to do?

Really, I thought I might be being obnoxious.

1d8 + 3
2 + 3 = 5 hit points restored.

edit: Wow. Exactly enough to completely heal me.

I attack Arnir.

Sorry for the delay I hadn't the foggiest idea what the attack results really meant. I also have little idea where I am in relation to my companions. I know Arnir is out of range. I'll assume Hyena is in range and take a swing at his little friend. Hammerhands... keep your head down.

To Hit 1d20+4 = 15
Damage 2d6+3 = 11

Take that ya little bastage.

Forgive me if I am wrong (which is more often then not...) but I thought I had a 17 armor class (+3 Dex and +4 Wis). I was wondering how a 15 hit me...

Just in case, I go ahead and make an escape attempt on the little pus-bucket's grapple.

Escape attempt: 15+8 (Escape Artist +8)= 23

I'm not sure how to copy old posts but i was in hiding and waiting till the end of the round to use my attack.

Here is my attack from Page 8.
To Hit
1d20+6
15+6 = 21

Dmg
1d10+0
7+0 = 7

I'll use this attack to clear the bugger off of Grafvolluth, since he's my friend and all :)

Hmmm... your character sheet shows AC 13, and NONE of your Monk Feats or Class Features...

Yes, you SHOULD have a 17 AC, and that attack would have missed. Did you have an updated link, I was using the one from the 1st page of this thread.

After the bloodsuckers make their move GrandMof jumps in from hiding and dispatches the stirge ready to drain the life from GrafVolluth

Grafvolluth - 22
Hyena - 20
them - 15
GrandMof - 14
coopasonic - 8
Arnir - 7

ROUND TWO

6 stirges flittering about close range

I believe that sets us up correctly for Round Two, yes?

Free Action: Drop 1 hand xbow at my feet
Move Action : Reload other hand xbow
Attack action: FIRE!

Hit:
1d20+2
15+2 = 17

Dmg:
1d4+0
2+0 = 2

Edit: The above is assuming they are at range, if they are flying about my head in adjacent squares I will drop both xbows as free actions, draw short swords as move action and attack with 1 of them just change the to hit and dmg appropriately

Yeah, I couldn't get my monk attributes to work with that program, so I used another one. If you look on the very first page of this thread, there is a rather long post by me that has my correct stats (including my monk abilities.) There is one thing that did NOT show up, however, and that is I took the Weapon Finesse feat for my hand to hand attacks, so I use my Dex as opposed to my strength for attack rolls.

Sorry about the confusion.

Hammerhands

**EDIT: Oops...*blushes* Actually I have an AC 19 because of the Amulet of Natural Armor +2 freebie that I got at the start, and in fact the weapon finesse *does* show up.

I go ahead and attack the one that was closest to me that hit me...no wait, it didn't hit me... :P

Flurry of Blows (one extra attack at highest bonus, all attacks -2)
Attack roll: 1*choke*+ 3(Dex) + 1(Base) - 2=3
12 + 3(Dex) + 1(Base) - 2=14

Doubt that hit, so I won't even bother rolling damage...

Mine's correct when I'm wearing armor, though I believe that I was sleeping when these creatures attacked and would have not been wearing any armor to sleep in.

With armor: Natural 10 + 6 from armor + 4 from dex = 20
Without armor: Natural 10 + 4 from dex = 14

As Arthur has just transited to this world, place, dimension, reality, etc?, he is just out of a fight and is fully armed and armored as he was previously. He might be a bit confused at this point, however.

Since a wee beastie attacked Arthur I'm assuming one is in his melee range. So, when his turn arrives, he will fight back.

I'm in a similar position. Though I think my char sheet is off a bit.
With Armor: 10 + 10 (+2 Full Plate) -1 (Dex) = 19; char sheet doesnt seem to count the magical +2 of the armor.
Without Armor: 10 + 0 (Purple Satin Speedo) -1 (Dex) = 9

I'm not in armor so my AC should be 14, which looks like the stirge that just attacked me will miss.

I'm up for attack and will shoot at the creature that just tried to attack me with my heavy Xbow.

To Hit:
1d20+6 (4 Dex + 2 Base)
12 + 6 = 18

Damage:
1d10+0
6+0 = 6

(Question: I know I have a bonus to attack but do I have a ranged bonus to damage? I know you add a str bonus to melee attacks but i'm not sure about a ranged damage bonus.)

GrandMof wrote:(Question: I know I have a bonus to attack but do I have a ranged bonus to damage? I know you add a str bonus to melee attacks but i'm not sure about a ranged damage bonus.)
Strength Bonus
When you hit with a melee or thrown weapon, including a sling, add your Strength modifier to the damage result. A Strength penalty, but not a bonus, applies on attacks made with a bow that is not a composite bow.

Projectile Weapons
Light crossbows, slings, heavy crossbows, shortbows, composite shortbows, longbows, composite longbows, hand crossbows, and repeating crossbows are projectile weapons. Most projectile weapons require two hands to use (see specific weapon descriptions). A character gets no Strength bonus on damage rolls with a projectile weapon unless it’s a specially built composite shortbow, specially built composite longbow, or sling. If the character has a penalty for low Strength, apply it to damage rolls when he or she uses a bow or a sling.

So for your Xbow, no.

Not really but given the time between actions around here it's likely for such a thing to get missed. Also, since you set your action before the enemy attack, CR would probably want you to confirm your action (and in the case of that to hit roll perhaps change your mind. ;) )

Yup Graf's up, Hyena's on deck.
You mean another one since this action
Free Action: Drop 1 hand xbow at my feet
Move Action : Reload other hand xbow
Attack action: FIRE!

Hit:
1d20+2
15+2 = 17

Dmg:
1d4+0
2+0 = 2

Edit: The above is assuming they are at range, if they are flying about my head in adjacent squares I will drop both xbows as free actions, draw short swords as move action and attack with 1 of them just change the to hit and dmg appropriately
So we are in Round 3 of combat?
Am I adjacent to something (melee) or @ range yet?
