Considering booking trips to scout out possible retirement locations outside of the country. Belize, Mexico, Panama, etc are all on the "Possibles" list.

I cope by doing a lot of anxiety cleaning. Handling my friend's estate also provides some distraction, but not much more than spreadsheets and paying bills at the moment. Starting to play guitar and do some amp stuff. Not watching the news at all, but keeping abreast of the latest developments as I can stomach.Feel little need to go out.

Re: How are you staying sane in 202X
He didn't say legally obtained drugs.

I actually am "stocked up" on one of my prescription drugs. The blood pressure drug I'm on (Sandoz Valsartan HCT) is weirdly effective for me, so my doctor-approved daily dosage is a half-tablet of the lowest potency version they make. The pharmacy tracking system isn't capable of making allowance for a 90-tablet refill that actually lasts 180 days, so I can order a refill every 90 days. Normally I wouldn't accumulate early refills, but I did do so last month in order to use up the last refill in my current prescription so that I could get my doctor to renew it before he retires at the end of March.
Anyway, having a reliable way to moderate my BP when the world is trying to keep me in a constant state of simmering outrage and despair helps keep me sane...ish.

Why not get a library card and listen to audiobooks legally? Aside from getting the card in the first place, you don't ever have to go to the library -- I use the Libby app which connects to my library's digital media store and I can download whatever they have available.Drazzil wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 2:34 pm I smoke weed. +1 to this. also checking out from the library helps boost the library's funding for the next fiscal year.Jeff V wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 9:19 pmWhy not get a library card and listen to audiobooks legally? Right now it’s Monster Hunter Wilds. I’ve cut back on my media consumption and I have a small group of close friends and family that I can talk with.
My mother is going through hell right now and I’ve been dealing with the hospital, doctors, insurance, lawyers, banks, friends and family, her house and bills and I’m not staying too sane.

Because most audiobooks from multco and other libaries I qualify for have extremely limited options and even those have 3-6 mo waits due to restrictive laws meant to benefit publishers of audiobooks. Thanks Jeff Bezos.hitbyambulance wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 4:50 pm+1 to this. also checking out from the library helps boost the library's funding for the next fiscal year.Jeff V wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 9:19 pmWhy not get a library card and listen to audiobooks legally? I get a little thrill every time I hear "this is audible!" and I get to know I ripped amazon off.

It's a real shame that the venn diagram bubbles between people who go on a "clothing optional" cruise, and "people who are attractive without clothing" do NOT overlap. At. I don't think it's a swinger's cruise. You don't have to bang them.

Also, the Venn diagram of people that say "those people are never attractive" and the group of people who completely miss the point of this type of cruise tends to be a single circle.
If one's idea of a clothing optional cruise is to ogle attractive people then brother, you would not be welcome aboard anyway.
