Meanwhile, more networks are calling Georgia for Ossoff, whose numbers are now above the .5% recount threshold.

Good. We want people to distance themselves from this. I don't care how they justify it to themselves.
Distancing themselves is the last thing we want. We want them to acknowledge this was wrong, not find a fictional scapegoat that fits their initial agenda.

The former is the latter. They know this is wrong, which is why they are distancing themselves. And that's good for everyone.

More from Pence.
Vice President Pence on Wednesday condemned protests inside the U.S. Capitol, which forced him to be evacuated from the Senate chamber earlier in the afternoon, and vowed those involved "will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

If they didn't have an audience, that might be enough.

Unless the rioters are arrested, they're going to go wild on the streets of DC tonight, curfew or not.

What's the status of the electoral college vote, certification, and "debate"? My sense is that it was paused by the chaos? Any indication of when it will resume?

We say: “Ok, so we both agree that the people should be identified and arrested.” , and see how serious they are.

From what I understand it’s paused, but the plan is to resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

Most Republicans are absolutely on board with slamming the full force of the law down on these protestors. Even the lizard people.

It was going to go late into the night anyway, since apparently the Jim Crow Caucus planned to issue a separate objection for each swing state, and *each* of them would get two hours of debate.

I wonder if they're still intending that. They're absolute jackasses, so they probably will.

I guarantee you that Jim Jordan or Ted Cruz will try to defend today's events as a sign of the nation's deep concern about the election.

Trump's taped response that he just posted just proves that he needs to be immediately jailed. Even while asking for peace, he keeps saying the "other side" cheated them all. 1/10th of that video is asking for calm, the rest is pure conspiracy theory again. The ones that stoked the fires that caused all this today.

God I want him gone. This world would be a better place without him.

And, from what I understand, as long as they have a quorum, they can do it wherever they want to.

He's whitewhashed the rioters as a wronged people who need to go home. And "We love you" was just what the rebels needed to hear.

as he was walking away from the podium a reporter yelled out something like "Are you afraid for your safety at the inauguration?". Biden walked a bit further, paused, then turned around and said off-mic, emphatically (don't have the exact quote) that no, he was not afraid. (said a bit more but i don't have the transcription).

Bullshit. What is the derp equivalent of crocodile tears? Statements like Cruz's arent good enough. Cruz was just talking about throwing matches on tinder while he was pouring gas all over the place.
