Overheard conversation in NYC, from days long gone. And even though I knew it, I still got wrangled into getting a puppy a few years ago and can confirm that indeed - puppies are still bullshit.

The link in the OP that you linked is a blank page, which is kinda sad if unsurprising after 14 years. I never knew where "puppies are bullshit" originally came from, and yet I have been substituting "puppies" for "bullshit" for many years now myself.

Ah, the same person who coined "snort their taint" (or, earlier, "snort my taint"). Makes sense, the man is a paragon of eloquence and recognizes genius when he reads it.

The places that employ 'sandwich artists' near me all switched to paper bags are while ago. I still try getting them to skip the bag when I'm eating in-store though.

This is amazing.
I've been pondering "that's puppies" for more than a decade here, always assuming that "puppies" must mean some variant of easy/nonissue/distraction/pseudoproblem/1st-world-thing/etc and never being able to parse the translation.

My neighbor’s daughter had a baby boy today.
They named him Traeger.
Because they - and I quote - love their Traeger grill and wanted the kid to have an ‘outdoorsy’ name.
Only in Utah...

The Walking Dead's Greg Nicotero and Norman Reedus are bringing their place here. Sounds cool.

at this office, there are still Halloween decorations up, and now a Christmas tree has been placed by the receptionist's desk (by a bucket of leftover candy)

An Ohio woman found dead in her home was likely killed by her own dogs, police say.
Mary Matthews, 49, was found in her Clearcreek Township, Ohio, home, about 40 miles northeast of Cincinnati on Friday, according to a report filed by Clearcreek Township Police.
The police determined that Matthews was attacked by her own dogs, according to the incident report. Matthews suffered multiple cuts and puncture wounds on the lower half of her body, the report said.
Investigators found two "large but thin" Great Danes, one brown and one black, on an enclosed deck of the home and blood and blood-stained clothing throughout the house, the report stated.
Matthews' husband, Mark Matthews, found his wife unresponsive in the home Friday and called authorities. He had been in the county jail since Wednesday and returned home that day, according to the report. There was no information on when the attack might have occurred.
Mark Matthews told police that the black Great Dane was "vicious" and showed an officer bite marks on his right forearm, according to the report.
The report said Mark Matthews told officers that "he was always able to fend off the dogs but if his wife was alone and they attacked, she would not have been able to defend herself because of her small stature."

Contractors are asked to refrain from celebrating Christmas or eating leftover Halloween candy.
Thank you for your understanding,

Another article stated she was a drunk and pill user from the time she wakes up. Not condoning the attack but it could be part of the cause of it and her not trying to get help and thinking she could handle it. They said they would match the bite marks to the dog then put them both down. That makes no sense.

What, they suspect a home invasion by a rogue dog?

I guess to see which did it but then why kill them both? Maybe they suspect the husband.

Obviously the dogs are innocent until proven guilty. Maybe she got bit somewhere else, and then came home? Perhaps the neighbor cat was wearing a set of false dog teeth and snuck in, intending to frame the dogs? maybe she was a attending a furry convention and things got a little out of paw?
