Yeah, I think the real folly in nominating Clinton was that it gave the GOP a multi-year head start in smearing her.
Not to worry; Obama is back on the campaign trail.
Not the same. His smearing wasn't as personal ("OMG Socialism!"), beyond noting that he's black, and since he's termed out he's not a clear and present danger. Plus he's pretty popular.
