False advertising. My can of spinach says Fancy Spinach but the ingredient list says spinach, water, salt. I see nothing fancy there!

EDIT: And a rip off as well. After heating the can of spinach and draining the liquid I was left with about a cup of mushy greens.

Fresh spinach, even freshly-wilted spinach, is delicious. Canned spinach is mushy greens.

I made creamed spinach for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Talk about a lot of work to make a healthy vegetable into something decadent...I will do that again. The recipe is basically eggs baked in a creamed spinach base, sort of like shakshuka, except nothing like shakshuka.

Stupid Levi's website. They supposedly have a 75% off warehouse sale. I went to the website, and they insist on getting my email address. There is NO CANCEL button. Except the stupid box won't go away even after I type in my email address. It was probably Chrome issue, as it seem to work in Firefox. ARGH. But after looking through the place, nothing really cheap. I don't pay more than $20 for a pair of Levi's 550 relaxed fit straight leg... Do you?

Not quite happy with my wallet's lack of display window on the outside, I decided to add one... By adding something that wasn't meant for a wallet... You know those "stickable" card carriers for cellphones? That you can stick on the back of a phone and it'll carry one or two cards? Got one of those, clear ones (or mostly clear anyway), and stuck it outside. It seems to work... so far, but I haven't taken it outside and find out for sure. *sigh*

Im not sure what to do with the mortgage now. According to the letter the place I was paying that sold it wont be taking any money for it after Jan 31. I paid them Jan 10 so that SHOULD be ok. But I plan to call Monday and confirm they are done. If so Im going by my bank anyways so Ill have them blocked from any further attempts just in case. Also the new company has not contacted me at all. I dont know if I wait on them to come to me or Im supposed to find out how to contact them or what.

I was thinking back to elementary school and a food item they had. It was peanut butter, sugar, and coconut rolled into a ball. As far as I know they were simply called peanut butter balls. Then I started thinking I wish testicles weren't called balls. It makes so many things including food something to make fun about when mentioned. "I love peanut butter balls!" "You love balls??" And such. Then I thought of that toy Bucky Balls and how tough( I used tough instead of hard here ) to have a conversation about Bucky Balls. Then I wondered if Winter Soldier says he has Bucky Balls to Black Widow or Scarlet Witch for fun while they shrug and go "Huh?"

I saw that on FB. It's hard for me digest that not having an inner monologue could be at all common. How do you read? But generally, it must be nice not to have your head yapping at you all of the time. Every day would be a day full of zen.

It sounds like some people have an inner monologue in English (or whatever language) while others have it in a more abstract form. But most are somewhere in middle. I'm pretty sure I have both.

This is gonna sound geeky as heck, but I just got one of the infamous Google programming puzzles, which is apparently a secret recruiting tool Google uses...



Basically when it senses you've been doing a LOT of programming (i.e. doing a heck lot of searches on Google about programming), it will offer you to play this programming test/puzzle. If you manage to beat all 5 levels (which obviously gets harder and harder...) you are encouraged to submit a resume and a recruiter from Google will call you in a few days.

I just beat the first level puzzle. I knew what approach I needed. Most of the time was spent fighting the syntax and thinking of edge test cases that prevented the program from verifying.

No one ever calls me. I get maybe 3 calls a year and they are all telemarketer / scams.

I get 1 or two letters a week in the mailbox all junk mail other than a bill. The box would take a year to fill so the mail carrier wouldn't notice.

I have 2 bags of garbage a month...sometimes 3. Most weeks I dont even take it down to the curb.

I only leave the house twice a month...maybe 3 if something comes up I need.

No one at all comes over.

I dont post on Facebook.

Seriously no one would know for about a year...possibly longer. Feel sorry for whoever finds me....and my pets

Just heard a story about Wuhan where a guy with a special needs son was put into quarantine. The city offficials were supposed to look after the son but failed to do so. The son starved to death.

Nextdoor is useful for such things as finding lost pets, giving away unwanted items, and getting contractor recommendations. It also has a creepy surveillance state aspect, like a neighborhood watch association. It's not something I use often, but it is useful. When somebody pranked us the night before Election Day 2016 by putting a Trump sign on our lawn, we used it to let our neighbors know that we didn't appreciate the joke and considered it trespassing and hate speech. Several of our neighbors had seen the sign -- one even told us she was afraid she was living next door to Nazis -- so it was a good way to clear our names.
