Can't find the tweets - good - but found a description. I also found a massively insufficient reason to not ban him tonight. Lock it for 2 weeks at least. Enough.hepcat wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:45 pm Taking a little break from getting my ass handed to me in Anachrony by the solo AI. What were the tweets that Trumpie sent that got him temp banned? I don't see them now as they've obviously been removed.
Twitter made the tweets unavailable. The company said if Trump removes them, the account will remain locked for 12 hours, and he doesn’t, it will “remain locked.”
One of the tweets called Vice President Mike Pence a coward for not helping Trump illegally reverse his election loss; another praised the Capitol rioters; and a third was a video message in which Trump falsely claimed that the presidential election was fraudulent before telling rioters to go home.
Twitter had followed Facebook’s lead in removing a similar video. “This is an emergency situation and we are taking appropriate emergency measures, including removing President Trump’s video,” tweeted Guy Rosen, Facebook’s Vice President of integrity. “We removed it because on balance we believe it contributes to rather than diminishes the risk of ongoing violence.”
But the president’s Twitter account was not deleted, a step Twitter takes in some cases, and some on the social media service were asking why.
The issue is not new — Twitter has a policy against tweets that incite violence that it does not apply to all users — but it flared again during the extraordinary events Wednesday after Trump addressed a rally on the National Mall aimed at protesting the presidential election results shortly before Congress convened to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.
Twitter specifically exempts the leaders of countries from its anti-violence policy. Company leaders have argued that the World Leaders Policy allows people to see what important political figures say, and that censoring them would take away from political discourse.
When did something being problematic stop Trump from doing problematic things?Jaymann wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:37 pm
I think it would be a bit problematic to issue a pardon to: All those people who stormed the Capitol.
There have been so many today. I'm honestly not sure what pushed them over the edge.hepcat wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:45 pm What were the tweets that Trumpie sent that got him temp banned?
I'm paraphrasing a bit, but one was something like "Our sacred glorious landslide victory has been stolen from us! Mike Pence sucks! But please go home now. I love you all!"hepcat wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:45 pm Taking a little break from getting my ass handed to me in Anachrony by the solo AI. According to a since-deleted video posted to his Facebook page, newly elected Republican Del. Derrick Evans participated in the mob that forcefully made their way into the U.S. Capitol.
Waiting for confirmation, but I'm seeing people say on Twitter that these individuals were on a guest list of a Senator and so the police were told to let them in.Unagi wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 7:47 pmAlso (but not withstanding) I don’t think they were really defending a line there. The camera man and dude in sweatpants are already beyond ‘the line’ when we see the police give up their post.
It was the one I posted. Its gone now. it said something like Him winning the election by a landslide and voter fraud and such and such about the protestors.Little Raven wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:48 pmThere have been so many today. PRESIDENT TRUMP’S refusal to accept his election defeat and his relentless incitement of his supporters led Wednesday to the unthinkable: an assault on the U.S. Capitol by a violent mob that overwhelmed police and drove Congress from its chambers as it was debating the counting of electoral votes. Responsibility for this act of sedition lies squarely with the president, who has shown that his continued tenure in office poses a grave threat to U.S. democracy. He should be removed.
Mr. Trump encouraged the mob to gather on Wednesday, as Congress was set convene, and to “be wild.” After repeating a panoply of absurd conspiracy theories about the election, he urged the crowd to march on the Capitol. “We’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you,” he said. “You’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.” The president did not follow the mob, but instead passively watched it on television as its members tore down fences around the Capitol and overwhelmed police guarding the building. House members and senators were forced to flee. Shots were fired and at least one person was struck and killed.
Rather than immediately denouncing the violence and calling on his supporters to stand down, Mr. Trump issued two mild tweets in which he called on them to “remain” or “stay” peaceful. Following appeals from senior Republicans, he finally released a video in which he asked people to go home, but doubled down on the lies fueling the vigilantes. “We love you. You’re very special,” he told his seditious posse. Later, he excused the riot, tweeting that “these are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away.”

Electoral college ballots rescued from the Senate floor. If our capable floor staff hadn’t grabbed them, they would have been burned by the mob.
