I'll give him this much - if you're willing to engage in civil disobedience (and we'll be charitable and call this that for the moment) then you should be willing to do the time.
And do time he will.

Romney is laying the smack down right now. Called Howley and Trump.out directly.
Romney, among his many excellent points, pointed out that even if there was an electoral commission, it wouldn't believed because Trump would continue to lie about the results. Trump is their god, the truth doesn't matter.

Agreed. He called the GA Sec. of State and asked him to throw out legal votes. That is why they recorded Trump. Scum of the earth.

About the woman that died today:
https://twitter.com/nhannahjones/status ... 3595092994
She served four tours in US Air Force only to die after storming the Capitol of the country for which she fought in order to over turn an election for a demagogue who had respect neither for our military or our democracy.

Apparently she was shot by police (or security) while she came first through a window into a section of the Capitol.
Yeah, I saw the video. She was trying to climb through a broken window in a Capitol hallway. Don't know the area she was trying to get into, but I don't think she should have been shot. But outnumbered law enforcement may have been fearful that she was just the first of many trying to come through. Still, she shouldn't have been shot, just grab her as she came through and cuff her. But of course if "she just followed orders, she wouldn't have been shot", I say sarcastically. It's so sad she died for her false messiah.
She was a 14 year vet that served 4 tours with the US air force. What do you think her intentions were when she was crawling through a broken window into a secured room of our Capitol? Getting shot is exactly what I would expect to happen and I can't imagine she was ignorant to the seriousness of her transgression.

They have to double down now that the writing is on the wall. They won’t be accepted back by the others, so all they have is the lunatic fringe. Their days in office are numbered without Trump.
But don’t worry. If Gaetz gets backed into a corner he’ll just whip out another minority teen for a photo op.

Rats. Sinking ship. Do the math.
Before the goons cut loose, today was supposed to be a day for Republicans to choose sides. Many were flirting with the dark side to burnish their standing with the deplorables. Having glimpsed the abyss, many of them are pulling back now. But too many are not. These factions can't coexist in one party. They're going to split.

Kick them out of Congress. This movement needs to be put down now. Laughing off the risk is not tenable. Next thing they need to do is remove Trump from power ASAP. He is a national security threat of the highest order.

I know but at this point we need to make it clear that there are serious consequences for this madness. What is it going to take before our leaders take this civil disturbance seriously? I have long thought this day would come but never thought we'd just go on to essentially go back to the same dangerous behaviors hours after the Capitol was stormed by seditionists. It's just madness.

Vanity Fair
Unbelievable account in Vanity Fair. Staffers being told to stay away from Trump so they wouldn't be pulled into coup activity.
As the violent mob incited by President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, some West Wing staffers panicked that they were possibly becoming participants in a coup to overthrow the government. “What do I do? Resign?” one nervous White House staffer asked a friend on Wednesday afternoon, shortly after news broke that a woman had been shot and killed inside the Capitol. The West Wing staffer told the friend that White House Counsel Pat Cipollone was urging White House officials not to speak to Trump or enable his coup attempt in any way, so they could reduce the chance they could be prosecuted for treason under the Sedition Act. “They’re being told to stay away from Trump,” the friend said. The White House declined to comment.
Cipollone’s purported concern that Trump was committing treason––a federal crime––illustrates the chaos and fear of Wednesday’s unprecedented events. At least one staffer isn’t waiting to flee the ship. On Wednesday night, CNN reported that Stephanie Grisham, the former White House communications director and Melania Trump’s current chief of staff, resigned over the Trump-inspired riot. As staff quit or steer clear, Trump is increasingly isolated and alone. According to a person close to the White House, Trump refused to take calls on Wednesday from business leaders who wanted him to call off the insurrectionists. A former West Wing staffer said Republicans were texting and calling Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to lobby him to intervene, but Meadows wasn’t answering.
In recent days, as Trump’s bid to overturn the election became increasingly desperate, he expressed anarchist comments in private, a second Republican close to the White House told me. The Republican said Trump told people that he wanted David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler to lose the Georgia Senate runoff election as a way of punishing them and Mitch McConnell. “Trump told people he is really angry that the senators and McConnell hadn’t stood up for him to challenge the election. He’s happy they lost.” According to the Republican, Trump has said he’ll be the most dominant force in Republican politics if there’s no party leadership.

News says a peaceful protest turned into a riot. Ummm dont all protests turn into riots these days? They should just label then riots from the start and have enforcement for all of them.
