Nice to see a team that is gutsy and understands the concept of clock management.
I said to the guys at the bar, "They're going to take a delay of game. There's NO WAY they're actually going for it.
Holy crap. Love this Lions team.
You have a bar that does Amazon games. Nice. I used to do bars sometimes for Thursday night games in the before times. I thought about returning to that life, especially now that I don't work the next day, and just force myself out of the house, but nobody does Amazon games AFAICT. The game was local, so I could have gone out last night but I wasn't feeling the best, so I just watched from under a blanket at home.
I also thought they were going to take the delay of game to try and draw someone off sides. But then, probably so was GB, which made going for it that much easier and when Dan Gamble sniffs success on 4th and...
The NFL will not punish Deshaun Watson following his latest sexual assault case, a league spokesperson told ESPN. The league ended its review and stated there was insufficient evidence to support finding a violation of its personal conduct policy.
The lawsuit, which was filed in September, accused Watson of sexual assault and battery for exposing himself and then sexually assaulting a women while at her apartment on a date in 2020. Watson strongly denied the allegations through his attorney, and has since settled the case.

Loved last year's team too (just not as much as my hometown Niners).
IMHO, Goff should be top 2 at least for MVP. The ESPN narrative has been all Lamar Jackson/Josh Allen and maybe Mahomes, but they have completely ignored my 2 top picks - Goff and Saquon Barkley. I'd have them both above the AFC guys.

To quote the loathsome Nick Wright, Jared Goff is just a civilian. He’s not an MVP. You can make an argument for him as Offensive Player of the year if that’s your thing, but Goff is just a piece of the puzzle in Detroit.
I get the argument about Barkley, but if CMC and Kupp couldn’t win it in the last few years, he’s not winning it.
As of Week 10, I was pretty confident Lamar was going to win, for the same reason that I thought Allen earned it last year. But the last two performances in national games against KC and SF, and the Ravens getting a little wobbly, I now think that Allen will win it for the same reason Lamar won it last year.
If the Bills earn the #1 seed after getting rid of Diggs, Davis, Morse, White, Hyde, and Poyer - and playing almost thru entire season without Milano? And losing Coleman and Kincaid in season? I mean…come on.
I say all this with the full expectation that DET puts BUF on blast next week. I just think that DET is a much more complete roster than BUF. The Bills are a 1 win team without Allen.

The Lions are so banged up that every win is a blessing and a miracle. I don't know how many guys will return from IR after 10 days off. If a lot do and they get their full practice, I like our odds. If the list remains like it's been, I'll continue to wince as I watch. That said, if the DET doesn't get coaching staff of the year there is no justice. They have made the game such a team sport and gotten practice squad players playing like they're 2nd string.
The Bears fan got a laugh out of me. I'm pretty certain Unagi will hate me forever for laughing and that makes me sad but I laughed anyway.

Followed up late heroics against the undefeated Chiefs with being the only QB to ever getting a passing, rushing, and receiving TD in the same game.
Follow that with being the only player in the modern era to have three passing and three rushing TDs in the same game.
All in front of a national audience. Hats off to the Rams though, they absolutely shredded the Bills D and Special Teams.

Jets eliminated from the playoffs!
Giants had to find a way to lose to stay at 2 wins with the Raiders.

I was at my brother's wedding yesterday but kept tabs on the score. Seemed like I missed a good one, but I did watch it this morning.

Nah.
Actually, the Lions fan made me laugh more.
The Bears thing is too correct. It's painful.

I'm sure water will find its level but hopefully not until after the Lions Bills Superbowl I've been waiting for since at least the mid 90s. Wherein an unstoppable force would avoid an immovable object.

Back in the day, I thought that would happen with the first Denver/Minnesota incarnation. Thanks Gary Anderson.

I heard while I was playing games. I'm glad I'm not watching. It sounds painful both literally and for the way the game is going.

Congrats to the Bills. That line play on either side of the ball, on six-days between games, and in Detroit — you earned it.
I think it's good to avoid going into the playoffs with a 14-game win streak (or whatever). Hopefully this is a good late-season wake up call for the Honolulu Blue.

How many living players do the Lions have left on defense? Are they going to have to play with just 10 from here out?

Football is still a thing? The Bears are trying to challenge for another high draft pick, and I'm one of 2 teams that didn't make FF playoffs, having lost my last 5 games (also had last pick in the draft, so my studs were Mahomes (not his best year) and the Miami running back, who was surprisingly good (I think I had drafted James Cook before him and he was just so-so).

They can do a Bill Belichick and use two guys throwing a football in the parking lot.

Bizarre end to the first half. After a disastrous interception thrown by the Chargers, they get to try a fair catch free 57 yard field goal attempt with no time on the clock. A play so rare it had to be explained to the coaches. The kick is good and the Chargers trail by only 8.

Nice comeback win by the Chargers to virtually secure a playoff berth. Perhaps Denver was gassed in the second half from the oxygen rich sea level air.

Usually it works the opposite way.
Some years ago, our long lost member, Lee, came to Chicago to run a 10K with me. He was having leg issues, could not even navigate the parking garage. But when race time came, he smoked me badly -- it was because of his high altitude conditioning. Afterward, I had to drive to ground level to pick him up because he still couldn't make it to the top of the parking garage.

I just want to be the first to congratulate the Lions for the win over the Bears today.

We'll see if the offense can carry us. 10 starting defensive players are out. Next man up can only carry you so far, especially in 2nd halves.
Edit: Well, in to the 2nd quarter it's looking like the Offense + costly Bears offensive mistakes probably will carry us...

I certainly did not have the Commanders over the Eagles or Panthers over Cardinals on my bingo card.

Having watched Daniels quite a bit in college; I never expected his skillset would transfer over to the NfL as well as it has. I honestly just kinda thought he’d get broken in half.
